genesa records continues to push newcomers in 2018. this time we have a split ep by the dutch duo phobia and the italian producer blacksun. both projects have released on the label’s digital only series in the past and have proven themselves with bold and effective productions. for this ep, they conjured astonishing tracks that make a must-have release for vinyl djs!

formed at the start of 2011 by d&b kingpins of the uks north-east phobia, sato and tyrone, chroma are looking forward to big things indeed in 2012. already with their first studio excursions very well received by the likes of dj hype, jubei, kasra, flight and more it’s not surprising that the likes of renegade hardware and frequency have been snapping at their heels for some chroma exclusives. for now though the boys drop their new piece of dance floor skullduggery on phobias coded imprint to kick off the new year.

stepping into their fifth release label owner phobia presents his first solo 12 inch for coded. >polaroid< is a moody roller as you might expect from the label boss, featuring the vocal talents of zoe hakin. on the flip >severance< is a lesson in intricate drums and bass, definitely one for the headz. bothtracks should be an essential part of any decent djs arsenal. both tracks have received support from the likes of spectrasoul, jubei, lenzman, nymfo, loxy and more.

moving onto release number 4, coded presents the next 12 inch by phobia, jubei & sato. following on from the massive >coopers dream<, >atlas< is more rolling bassline pressure from the coded camp, whilst on the flip >jitter< steps into more techy terrain. both tracks should be an essential part of any decent djs arsenal. support for the 12 inch has come from d-bridge, vicious circle, fierce, raiden, mindscape and more.

phobia, known for his releases on renegade hardware, critical & his own coded music imprint, makes a guest appearance on ingredients. >clean break< has been receiving loads of attention, with its solid, head nodding beats & huge rhythmical bassline. this is a wicked tune to get your groove on! >voyager< on the flip features baron von alias and is a murkier affair. tough beats, moody riffs and grimey basslines. and of course a recipe: phobias posh beef stew & dumplings!
