zooloft records is approaching to the era of future tech-noir and this release is the result of an internal process of thoughts and ideas behind them. it tells the story of a sad wanderer who is trying to find the path to personal truth. outside, a desolate scenario of modern architectures of cold glass, standing to the edge of horizon. a wonderland of mirrors and empty landscapes: the triumph of solitude. the a side starts with a complex and claustrophobic dark-techno driver which sets a point of no-return. an obsessive pattern of sub-frequencies collides with breaths from the beyond. sound paranoia. the highest frequencies create phrenetic and compulsive rhythms to make the dynamics imploding. the heroes of modern-age industrial techno, orphx, make the path to truth harder. they trace an obscure reinterpretation of the a side with a percussive alarm that marks the time, while dense and anxious atmospheres are followed by syncopated beats and distorted high-frequencies. the breaths from the beyond are now closer than ever. the ep gets closed by an evocative, thoughtful and beatless composition. the perfect soundtrack for those who are wandering and wondering

one of italy’s strongest techno forces returns with his third release for sonic groove. obtanes latest expedition comes in the form of two songs. >utopian man< starts the release off . a highly infectious foot and mind burner with sweeping bass sounds, dark atmospherics & solid rhythms. overlap this with catchy detroit styled keyboard stabs and you are in for a 10 minute ride into worlds unknown. as one ride ends the next one begins with symbology of decline. this banger of a peak time dance floor techno track wreaks of old school belgian techno flavor. the main hook of the track sweeps and swooshes its way through the speaker cones while the drums punish the speakers and listener further into submission. the perfect formulation of rhythm and sound and another 1/2 knock out punch from obtane.
if the eyes would be the mirror of the soul we could easily know others. but that may be not true so this is the aim of giorgio gigli and obtanes >the incredible tale of secret journey through your eyes<: penetrate your eyes and reach your soul and subconsce until we know your truth. psychoanalytic claims this time for zooloft, opening with an upbuilding, dramatic techno anthem, telling us of a true love on the hills. on the other side, geophones master mike parker delivers a pulsating and acidic techno driver where heart impulses are generated by a disturbed soul, creating spasms and panic feelings. the ep get closed by a strongly romantic drone track that tells us love is still the only way-out.
zoolofts >looking through a mindscape< ep is a decidedly dark new cut from giorgio gigli and obtane. the catalogue number is 00d and if the >d< signifies anything it should be dystopian. this utterly visual ep straddles dancefloor-optimised rhythms and atmospheric ambience.

the environmental radiation dose on the moon ep is the first collaboration between zooloft and aconito records. the two labels are twinned in exploring the limits of techno, experimenting with structures and sequences and ultimately arriving at the place where the deep and dark sublimes. the ep opens with the child that was watching the moon a track lifted right out of the drone-techno hymnal. it starts with muddied, subterranean bass and builds not just outwards but inwards. filled with obtuse references and metallic rasps the atmosphere created is obscure and spectral. on the reverse the moon that was watching the child sounds like its been exposed to radiation. the sounds are distorted, as if created from samples of the genome unzipping. the arrangement is stunning, bells filter in and out and the layers smelt into one another. there is awe at work here, but its an awe that remains underpinned by terror. this release, mastered in berlin at the legendary calyx studio, is something of a record collectors dream. it will be released on solid silver vinyl in a very limited edition of just 200 copies. za000ltd should be enjoyed on wax, this wont be available digitally.
