the martinez brothers return to their own cuttin headz label with a new two track ep. joint custody features collaborations with jerome sydenham, mathew jonson and martin buttrich. first track no pop is a 12 minute acid-influenced workout, channelling both the martinez brothers and sydenhams taste for faster-paced dancefloor-ready basslines alongside jonsons ear for the surreal high-pitched chirps pitch down into classic acid stabs whilst a metallic distorted vocal echoes above clapping hi-hats. affection deficit disorder alongside martin buttrich continues this sense of quirkiness, the titles eponymous acronym repeated over a darker, grooving bassline and spacey keys. the duos final collaboration with the producer, 9 pound hammer appears as a bonus third track on the vinyl release. the joint custody ep is the martinez brothers first release since the incredible success of last years stuff in the trunk featuring miss kittin. the release follows the pairs highly anticipated gig at the launch of landmark new london venue, printworks.

martin buttrich - two new projects born simultaneously. his new label, rhythm assault, is intended to be an outlet for impulsive releases of his own music, free from the constraints of rigorously organised and planned imprints. the labels first project gives birth to collaborator - a two volume project seeing martin release a continuous stream of brilliant collaborations with the likes of carl craig, guti, dj tennis, loco dice, timo maas, the martinez brothers, guy gerber to name but a few. the first collaboration titled synchronicity, with mathew jonson.

in less than a year since first starting out, guy gerber’s rumors label has become one of the go-to outlets for considered, classy and cultured house music. after tastemaking and standard-raising releases from guy & dixon, lake people and chaim – as well as memorable parties everywhere from bpm to wmc - now the imprint offers up a fantastically strong and seductive four-track sampler entitled chinese whispers.

master of after-dark electronic symphonies, martin buttrich is set to drop a pair of heavyweight tracks on guy gerbers supplement facts imprint this winter. a-side earth of foxes is a moody masterpiece with a complex tapestry of wonky chimes, ethereal voices and a galloping groove. b-side monkey troopers is another techy monster with brooding bassline and classic buttrich drums. with that innate quality of buttrich’s productions the earth of foxes ep is both hypnotic and loopy whilst encased within intricate textures and rhythms.

were excited to announce that renowned composer and producer martin buttrich will release >crash test< on desolat on 29.3.2010. whether listened to while driving on the highway or on a massive speaker stack at next summer’s festivals, one thing is for sure: crash test will splinter preconceptions. the album is a compilation of tracks, picked from among many works he has created over the last 15 months at his hannover studio and various spaces and places worldwide. each song pays testament to this grammy-nominated artists fluid approach to music composition – an ability to converse with machines, and dive deep into the circuitry of a song. buttrich has spent recent years developing a sound that appeals to both sides of the brain: having dropped records on labels such as planet e, four:twenty, cocoon, poker flat and desolat that encompass the entire spectrum between dreaminess, intuition, warmth, melancholy, and highly calibrated dancefloor precision. meanwhile his catalogue stretches round some of the most influential dance tracks heard around the globe since 1992

played by c-rock, d julz, gregor tresher, 2000 and one, minilogue and many more… like no other german producer, hannover-born martin buttrich has been decisively influencing the sound aesthetics of electronic dance music since the middle of the nineties. having been more in the background for most of the time while working for and with timo maas and loco dice among others, his benchmark releases for carl craigs label planet e or poker flat have also spotlighted his original name in the public. buttrichs second ep for cocoon couldnt prove better his prediction that in 2008, minimal techno will be containing more warm and melodic components. strangely familiar but always surprising, again and i lost my wallet provide us with bassprone reduction somewhere in between techno and house, and harmony bits that remind of caribbean calypso sounds provide the feeling of the approaching summer which makes both tracks perfect for the final of the open air season 2008. at least, buttrich will be an integral part of the season closing between ibiza main river and spree.

cloudy bay his debut ep for poker flat. once more the new 3-tracker proves his enormous skills. cloudy bay is a catchy and simply beautiful track with exciting strings and a wicked break which bring up the right dose of ecstasy on the floor. massive tune! the b-side holds two more high-spirited tracks with >whats your name< being a bit more relaxed and deep, while >lazy bastard< edges upwards again to a good pace with a great arrangement and a 100% positive vibe. fantastic release by a great producer who is well known for his top collaborations with loco dice, timo maas ....

ltd warehouse found! at night was originally released by shakedown in 2002. later on, acts like alan braxe and mousse t. produced remixes. the chab deep mix was a digital- only release via panorama records in 2008. a friend of 200 heard the song at a hawaiian sail rave and posted it on facebook. 200 records fell in love with the track and decided to release a vinyl version. this release also contains the epic martin buttrich dub mix which was originally also released in 2008.
