its taken over two-decades legendary uk techno label ferox enter their 24th year with a 4 trackerafrom fellow brit kirk degiorgio. beholden looks both to the future with influences from kirk s seminal machine events which he hosts with ben sims, and the illustrious past of deep melodic uk techno which he shares with ferox owner russ gabriel. it continues a resurgence of lush, harmonic techno that once dominated the electronic music scene and which is now findingaa fresh, young audience. expansive chords, delicate melodies and intricate grooves are once again on the cutting edge agenda.

the time has come that berlin based techno producer and dj frank muller launch his new label mad musician. these days it requires some kind of madness to devote your live to music. but we are not mad entirely, we are the geeks, the gear nerds, the outcasted studio freaks who just heard about daylight. following a string of eps and remixes as his alter ego beroshima, the launch of his new label as frank muller was long overdue to focus on the new platform. it continues to break the stylistic frame defined by the market and yet manages to surpass the expectations set by these skilfully crafted productions. mad musician defy genre boundaries and incorporate a wide range of sonic colours. merging detroit influenced berlin techno with any kind of genre. exploring the electronic galaxy to invite other true musicians to join the mission and to cooperate, remix and to release the stuff we like. the first invited mad musician is none less than lord kirk degiorgio who recently released some awesome stuff on rush hour and planet e.are u mad enough?

two years after his ripple effect release on rush hour, kirk degiorgio returns to the label with a new single, entitled divine logic. the legendary uk techno producer kirk degiorgio is known as a purveyor of techno soul in its finest form. he was at the root of the uk techno movement in the early 90s, soon after the detroit sound went global. he has recorded many now classic releases under guises as future/past, as one and elegy for labels such as planet e, r&s and mo wax as well as his own art label. with divine logic he keeps true to his own tradition by delivering a timeless piece of techno music. a string-laden track that evolves around an arpeggiated synth line. a classy joint that shows that the heritage of detroit techno still lives on.

art-nr2 is the third release in art records remaster series following on from carl craigs >psyche/bfc< and kirk degiorgios >nairobi ep<. promenade eleven lives up to the billing of those illustrious predecessors, being a reverse-engineered remake of >night on the promenade< which originally appeared in limited quantities on the new religion label in 2006 under the name >super-a-loof<.
labelled at the time as a successor to classic techno tracks such as derrick mays >the beginning< and rolandos >knights of the jaguar<, this re-make will finally bring it to the wider audience it deserves via the art label.
promenade eleven (original mix) adheres faithfully to the original arrangement but has been re-recorded and totally remixed from the ground-up for a modern club sound.

london based rico casazza has been sliding out warm, harmonically rich techno for over 10 years now, shoring up on labels such as bonzai elemental, archipel, stock5, cartulis music, variance and more. on his latest release, which lands on sterling techno imprint murge recordings, he s channeling the spirit of detroit in a plush spread of warm and expressive synth shapes. -transmutation- is strong in its original configuration, but it s also propped up by some classy remixes from big hitters. kirk degiorgio steps up first with a tense, darkside techno workout for the peak of the night. aubrey then pings things up into a trippy, heavy-rolling workout drawn from the freakier end of the spectrum.
