no vinyl , just a book with mp3 dl... it is a mix of a fanzine and an artbook. the outside is screenprinted 1c, the inside is 2c. every cover is individual, so every book isaa one off art piece. the book comes in a envelope also screenprinted on the outside. it includes a free album download code on the inside. on each page of theabook there are robis images and some stills from the workvideo. its all designed by robi himself

as headman gears up to release his sixth album it appears he is having something of an identity crisis... is he headman? or is he, as his mother named him, robi insinna? either way, he is one of disco s most daring of producers and, monikers aside, anything he releases is well worth your attention. especially this first sampler from the album 6. a collaborative affair, each track sees him teaming up with kindred spirits and friends to forge new groove paths and re-position old references. -work- takes a kraftwerkian recipe and stretches it like a well made pizza dough, -barbarism- dusts off the cosmic guitars for an enlightened star-gazing session, -der- sits happily between black strobe and jeff wayne while -sleep red- cruises towards dfa city limits in a cowbell escalade. each one of them will have you hankering for the album. guaranteed.

part 3 of the emotional relish series sees robi insinnas work remixed by a quartet of british producers. death in vegas overseer richard fearless tackles >be loved< starting with an ethereal loop that builds on top of itself before the beat kicks in and the remix heads for the dark (leather) dancefloor. mr andy blake channels the collective spirits of the slits, the pop group and killing joke on his space echo laden remix of >adolescent sex< whilst weatherall acolyte scott fraser returns to the relish cause with a typically chugging rendition of >turning< that has found favour from croatia boat parties to the catwalks of paris s/s 2013 no less (check youtube for evidence). cosey club founder richard d clouston slows down the tempo for a brooding, mind bending take on >blue girls<.

headmans be loved surfaces from relishs recent label round up compilation 3.the taught 808 foundation of the track is supplemented with heart swelling synth lines that unfold eventually into an upbeat electronic pop song repleat with live bass and swirling strings. vocal duties are supplied by rosie blair, known to some as vocalist for moon unit,and one half of the duo boy of girl with paul mogg (formerly of the psychonauts).the song steps a fine line between electro, synth pop and the electro/ acoustic dualism of wide boy awake.

fluctuation is the 3rd single taken from headmans latest album >1923<. fluctuation takes you back to headmans manhead roots, pushing the sounds of early 80s club music deeper underground than ever. the remixes come courtesy of tim goldsworthy, under his moniker thee loving hand and the italian newcomer to gomma: cecile. the original track from the album sounds balearic / cosmic, but they take it somewhere else completely ...

the latest release from relish recordings is from label boss headman. private show is the 2nd single from the upcoming headman album 1923. the synth filled dancefloor jam is the culmination of old school manhead with the modern headman trademarks - heavier basslines and big drums. the track features vocal great steve mason (man behind betaband/blackaffair/kingbiscuittime) who has set a somewhat deviant mood to the track with some smooth vocals, making this a track better to listen to rather than read about. private show also comes with remixes from relish new-comers tape to tape, who have come through with a two part remix of the track as well as a remix from gommas telonius

als ein großer grauzone- und stephan eicher-fan war robi insinna extrem geehrt, als er vor einigen jahren gefragt wurde, ob er ein remix von stephan eicher machen wolle. die idee zu der reworks 12 inch auf relish kam erst einige jahre später und seine wahl fiel auf *nice*. dieses wird auch teil des reworks albums sein, welches nächstes jahr erscheint. headman hat dann noch new york citys justin strauß in das projekt einbezogen, welcher *eisbär* schon bei seinem ersten dj job im legendären mudd club spielte. mit seinem partner bryan mette als (whatever/whatever) gab er *les filles du limmatquai* seinen touch. das cover ist eine hommage an das original artwork von der *nice* 12 inch us mixes vinyl von 83, welches von klaudia schifferle stammt. sie war mitglied der schweizer punk-band kleenex, welche das original von *nice* einige jahre zuvor geschrieben und performed hatten.

surfacing from the back streets of greater mancunia, mystery artist belly arrives with the first record on their new belly dance label. with little more information to go on, let s focus on the music with the two original tracks from belly making for interesting listening. lead cut *dark autumn* is a slow beat sleaze production dominated by the vocals, big kicks and heavy synths that would go down well late into the night at horse meat disco. *farewell* is equally hard to pin down, taking on a more overtly hip hop style and is packed thick with textural and sampled detail. on the flip rob insinna turns in two new beat style remixes of *dark autumn* that will appeal to the more adventurous selectors.
