our little dirt crew sub label spiel started out in late 2013 with three excellent releases, the first two by clancy featuring remixes by urulu and prins thomas followed by a stellar ep from mercury. after a hiatus spiel is back for 2016.

es heißt schleunigst aufzuhorchen, sobald good guy mikesh neues material auf riotvan droppt. auch wenn es schon eine weile her ist, das letzte, seinerzeit noch an der seite von filburt auf riotvan aufgefahrene -no other- klingelt immer noch als eine der unwiderlegbarsten house-hymnen der letzten jahre in unseren ohren. die aktuelle ep triggert da zwar weniger den großen singalong-hunger, formuliert aber dafür in immer wieder neuen schattierungen den selbstbewussten entwurf eines ganz eigenen elektrifiziert-verwaschenen house-begriffes aus

after stumbling across good guy mikesh and making an edit of his track *freddy* - maceo plex delved deeper into the back catalogue and decided he was bona fide ellum material… one demo request later and the *from another world ep* was born. a trio of original tracks, one of which features production partner filburt, it is dark, beautiful and warm music for cold winter nights.

stell dir vor, wir leben im 21. jahrhundert, aber das neue release der sonst so zeitgeistkompatiblen good guy mikesh & filburt klingt wie eine lupenreine 90er jahre-house-single. zeitschleife? einfallslosigkeit? mitnichten. die beiden haben sich bei >no other<, das als 10 inch clear vinyl auf riotvan erscheint, bewusst für eine Überdosis musikgeschichtlicher querverweise in die frühen 1990er entschieden, um ihren dort ansässigen idolen tribut zu zollen. die b-seite gehört einem tollen remix von permanent vacation aus münchen.

limited to x 300 red coloured vinyl copies, 80er disco beinflusste tracks in verschiedenen variationen, mal mehr synth disco, mal mehr 80s disco oder auch tangerine dream oder jmj beeinflusst--- aber immer sehr eigenständig. very special

good guy mikesh is well known for his track -milk & honey- which was on the fabric 51 by dj t. and formerly released by liebe*detail spezial. with the single spare, good guy mikesh proves his talent for contemporary club- and popmusic. a rough and sometimes dark baseline layer underlines the magnificent detuned vocals. spare is a song that can enchant us listeners either in the club context or at home. remixes come in courtesy of christian löffler, axel boman, marbert rocel and mano le tough. christian löffler gives the original his trademark sound and makes it a melancholic piece of deep techno. axel boman is going straight to the floor with his remix of spare. adding clubsuited sounds and clicks this makes it a deep house version of the original for the djs to play out loud. marbert rocels version of >spare< is a playful one, the disco elements and the added sax line gives the track its distinctive sound of marbert rocel . mano le tough adds a few synth-lines to the original and makes it good for both: homelistening and club. supported by: marquese, tristen, john roberts, soul clap, dj sneak, lexy, tobias thomas, paul loraine, m.a.n.d.y., anthony collins, paulo olarte, alex tepper, butane, ripperton, nuno dos santos, milly de mori, sven tasnadi, eddy richards, nooncat, guy j, david keno, murat kilic, jesse rose, simon beeston, someone else, patrick zigon, chris lattner and elektrosalz

who are these guys behind the pseudonyms? good guy mikesh and filburt are two music lovers… full stop! two independent acts that met in leipzig and began to merge their musical creative capacities two years ago. a convolution of disco, pop and house, propagating one of leipzigs most promising collaborative developments. good guy mikesh has haunted leipzigs contemporary underground for a long time. from the beginning of his musical career, his singles have signified an eclectic mix of pop, soul and disco. filburt - dj, record store owner and leipzig club scene veteran, was consequently good guy mikeshs best possible accomplice in the mission to break fresh ground. this mixture of soul, disco and house-pop is it, charged by the duos certain something - an energy sought for not only in this town, but throughout the whole scene. someone told me, their latest single, has been causing an outbreak of contagious enthusiasm in the scene since its release on permanent vacation this summer. we are proud to release this fine ep, which comes with a remix by one of our uk favorites: mark e !
