brightons blood red shoes - laura mary carter (vocals / guitar) and steven ansell (drums / vocals), two enthusiastic punk inspired brawlers who channel the clamor of yeah yeah yeahs, the duke spirit, and huggy bear return with theire second album, fire like this. the follow up to 2008s box of secrets, has seen them take a new pop direction whilst still sticking to their roots. the vocals are a bit more pop, singer / guitarist laura mary carter explained, but the music is actually heavier. drummer steven ansell added: its slower, which makes it feel heavier, and the melodies are more evil sounding.
