following from his recent bass clef releases with both pan and alter, london based musician ralph cumbers presents a new album of material from his some truths alter ego. bringing together strands of house, techno, fractured rhythm and anthemic modular synthesis, the album demonstrates cumbers vision as one of experimental musics most singular voices, adeptly distilling strands of the familiar and abstract into a series of tonal and percussive collages that effortlessly navigates the balance between stark functional electronics and a playful psychedelic humour.

it has been over a year since the last schmorgasbord release dropped, which saw al tourettes (better known now as second storey) rubbing up against paradroid in a mix up of electro, techno and electronica styles. now the label returns with bass clef and frak, who were asked to each commit a half-finished sketch of a track to tape, exchange tapes and finish off each others tracks. bass clef has been a strong solo force on the electronic music scene since he first emerged in the wider bass music field in 2006, and has since released on idle hands, punch drunk, pan and public information as well as running his own magic + dreams imprint. swedish trio frak have been releasing since their debut album in 1987 when they were thirteen years old. the swedish trio have been active for most of that time, running borft records and releasing a huge amount of music as well as performing live. in recent years they have enjoyed more recognition with releases on kontra musik, digitalis and sex tags mania. schmorgasbord launched in 2011 with a release that saw appleblim and october collaborating for the first time. it was followed up by a release from s-max and spatial.

bass clefs long player *reeling skullways* was met with a wave of critical acclaim when it arrived on punch drunk back in early summer 2012, demonstrating his vision, passion and skill for electronic music as an artist and producer. the record captured the attention of director steven mcinerney who has previously directed videos for circle traps and vessels as well as edited videos for bloc party, jon hopkins, tim exile, pvt, wagon christ, vladislav delay and many more, inspiring a collaboration between the two artists. now ready to be unveiled in all its techni-colour glory, punch drunk will be releasing a *stenaline metranil solar flare* ep to accompany the video featuring two new mixes from bass clef, & peverelist. bass clefs remix comes all guns blazing, drawing on the influence and legacy of his east london surroundings, delivering a grime laden, juggernaut proportioned reworking of the original, racheting up the pressure a bar every bar. the peverelist mix draws on his bristol influences with a system testing, psychedelic steppers version excursion.

volume one of a two-volume twelve-inch set featuring tunes from eamon harkin and justin carters mix cd, weekends and beginnings. this volume features a beatless ambient acid journey from bass clef, an obscure gem from nebraska, and a long sought after maurice fulton remix of alice smiths love endeavor. maurices remix is cut to a full side of vinyl at 45rpm, and both sides were mastered by the ever extraordinary matt colton. it sounds phenomenal!
