4 TO THE FLOOR PRESENTS FOURTH FLOOR RECORDS (2X12 INCH LP)
2x12" Vinyl UK25.04.17
fourth floor was a major us player in supporting the london garage scene in the late nineties. responsible for very early releases from todd terry (known as masters at work at the time) the imprint also released seminal classics from fallout, the morning after and arnold jarvis, take some time out both of which made the cut for this double 12inch release. included on this 8-track package are some contemporary edits from luke solomon of rhythm faktor dream on (organ grinder mix) and love root funky emotions (another mix), plus outstanding records from royal orchestra, m.o.d.e., bamboo and the break boys. 4 to the floor presents fourth floor records is part of the 4 to the floor series. lovingly selected and compiled by luke solomon, the 4 to the floor series also delves into the movin records, sub-urban, faya combo, soulfuric and slip n slide catalogues, digging for those lightbulb moments of musical discovery. fulfilling his role as your friendly record shop assistant, lukes 4 to the floor series comes correct with brand new vinyl lp collections and digital albums from these now legendary house labels, plus official label merch to accompany all of the releases, for that full rack-raiding experience.
out for the first time on vinyl since it s original release in 1994, inspiration is a house classic that needs no introduction. a blockbuster in the house hall of fame, arnold jarvis iconic vocal sits seamlessly on what would become the signature rough tumble kerri sound.
arnold jarvis take some time out was first released in 1987, the year that fourth floor records was born, and it stands the test of time as a seminal release for the label. the track perfectly characterises the stand out productions that keep the house music world returning again and again to its catalogue for inspiration. this official vinyl re-issue includes the club and dub that made up the original release, plus a reconstruction mix by ilija rudman. ilija delighted classic music company earlier this year with his minimal take on disco in track in her eyes. his approach to the take some time out re-work has the same deconstructed vibe the loose percussion and punchy melodic bass gives a pleasing spaciousness to the track, giving the record fresh life and re-imagining it for 2016
danism makes their debut on noir music with the emotional reciprocated love featuring the vocals of legend arnold jarvis. we fell in love with this stringled and super smooth song from 1st listen at the nm offices. deephouse like it sounded back in the day and in general just a timeless effort by the cambridge based guys. deetron, deux tigres and city soul project deliver the remixes and all of them are spot on quality with a more clubby edge. so instead of keep hyping this brilliant release. let the music do the talking.
the movement continues... we are excited to welcome a new member to the seasons family and hot off his #1 single early this month on foliage records. yass has come with a massive project. joined along side yass is tony loreto and the almighty arnold jarvis on vocals for a project titled >let go< on the seasons limited imprint. we are huge fans of mr. jarvis and the partnership with yass & tony loreto is an instant classic! we wil let the music speak for its self...
