LOVELAND 20 YEAR ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION (2X12 INCH LP)
2x12" Vinyl D19.05.15
loveland are one of the longest running quality event promoters of the netherlands. as music has always been their reason to live it made sense to launch a record label after 20 years in the business. most artists on this release have a special bond with loveland built up over many years of performing at their events and in some cases from the very start of their carreer. the vinyl showcases 7 exclusive tracks on two 12?discs. from the bright and melodic sounds of egbert, vince watson, arjuna schiks and dosem to the repetitive hypnotizing grooves of mathew jonson, anthony rother and aril brikha this release covers a wide scope of quality music.
tel avivs deep a & biri and iran-born producer aril brikha will unite on a forthcoming 12inch on deeps & biris black crow label, from which proceeds will be donated to a israel/palestine peace projects organization.
definition of d is a little tribute to detroit, the city that influenced and later embraced my music in the mid/late 90s. this ep is an attemt to make music that is closer to the sound that i started out making but still different from the old detroit releases. high tech soul and is hopefully the key here. available on vinyl
the winter saga continues… this being the second release on art of vengeance, aril takes yet another turn in style, or rather back to the sound of the winter ep that was released on kompakt in 2007. the title track is is a journy in melodies built in layers, trying to fit as much melodies in one track without going over the line. maybe it is over the line? tundra is a bit more on the rough side but with arps and chords coming in and out while glacär/for minou strips things down a bit to a more bassier and warmer sound with string/chords, less melodies and more groove
GROOVE LA CHORD (DEETRON, OCTAVE ONE, JORI HULKKONEN RMXS)
12" Vinyl D06.12.10
one chord to rule them all! deetron, octave one & jori hulkkonen put their hands on some brikha classics!!! in 1998 aril brikha reacquainted the world with deep techno soul, as his record groove la chord crossed generic boundaries.
new years deal - two years after the milestone somewhere compilations, something happening somewhere is commemorating the times that have passed, returning with a new chapter in the series. selecting unique pieces of artists known and less known, the somewhere series continue their sound based confessional. telling unheard stories, exposing unseen surfaces and unheard sounds.
