vault series is a cheeky little series where rush hour drops never before released tracks and mixes from its vaults as well as tracks which are in dire need of a re-release.
the series kicks off with an unreleased track by the mysterious duster valentine. an anthemic disco track that, with its catchy piano loop, pays homage to the golden days of new york house music. music that will make you sweat!
on the other side we find aardvarcks fun-loving-freestyle-disco-mash-up-party-jam. its original release a few years ago saw support by many djs around the world. it was only released as a limited once sided promo. here is a chance for those who missed it to own a copy. this version is remastered and extended!

aardvarck returns with his third full length album for eat concrete records. >anti concept< showcases a taste for deep ambient and minimalstic soundscapes, dub, detroit techno and bass heavy beats, mixed into a perfect flow. as the title suggests >anti concept< leaves aside musical genres and focuses on atmosphere rather than style. aardvarck carefully and patiently builds his own world of sound, adding layers and complexity with each track. these tracks bring mostly new material but also contain some of his earlier works on previous eat concrete and bloom releases, highlighting some personal favourites of his impressive output. enjoy!

aardvarck comes with >gloom<, an offshoot of his highly successful >bloom< imprint. >gloom< is the second split effort between aardvarck and dutch beatmaster kubus (opgezwolle, top notch). it features aardvarck on an oldschool techno vibe with deep and greasy beats plus his signature style breaks. on the flipside kubus delivers three insanely loud and bass heavy bangers. limited white label!

when we released aardvarcks nosestep as part of his well well well ep in the summer of 2007 it cause quite a stir in the then formative dubstep scene, almost anybody played that track. now we re-release it with a new version by cosmin trg, who transformed it into a strong acidic stepper, 2010 style. on the b-side we find an unreleased nubian mindz remix from aardvarcks spoken release from 2001. we didnt release it at the time, but with the whole new future house movement coming strong, the timing couldnt be more perfect

with -choice-, aardvarck has created one of his finest selections to date. the 22 tracks go in all directions aardvarck is known for: from bass-heavy dub to lush soundscapes, broken beats and soul vocals. after a few introducing words by gaslamp killer, the beautiful -lucky shot- features vocals by alexandra. the following cinematic and hypnotising ambient-like pieces are sometimes reminiscent of boards of canada and the aardvarck classic -find the cow-. from then onward we are treated with songs similar to some of the recent -bloom- releases, displaying a taste for heavy bass, beats and dub samples. yet -choice- has more to offer than dj-food alone, the album flows like a mix and keeps a light and fresh vibe along the way with lots of sketches and interludes. aardvarck also offers some definite classics with -heal- and -find the cow almost-, featuring guest vocals on both tracks. timeles

aardvarck returns with this excellent selection of raw, deep and ultra heavy dub. minimal yet very effective plus massive bass on all cuts. featuring words by gaslamp killer, mastering by sandor caron.

all the tracks on this double vinyl demonstrate his innovative approach to music, running the full spectrum from soft ambient interludes to the more uptempo beat trickery. accept manages to combine both extremes and is an apt opening track, demonstrating the two faced nature of aardvarcks productions, highly constructed beats and beautiful melodies. taa baa sounds like it emerged straight out of londons co op, though aardvarck has not been to this broken beat mecca. th #1 is pure ambient bliss and followed by the deep spacious beats of dim. steps is based around a seriously crunched up hip- hop break, think domu scrapping with the funkstorung boys. the original version of zom is track 7 (ignore the tracklisting on the cd) whilst the stunning remix by attica blues tony nwachukwu is actually track no. 17. upset is based around deep raw bass, the structure of the track is created with pin point beat work. flight simulator is a silky smooth journey, proving that aardvarcks beats dont have to be broken. the stuttered synchopated bass stabs of th#3 combined with its fearsome breaks push the edge of the nu jazz envelope and gentle is an uptempo number combining the skip of 2 step with smooth german jazz styles - one for the quirky jerky types on the dancefloor. th#6 is another deep ambient soundscape helping to ease the pressure after the frantic percussion of knet. stampot shows aardvarcks ability to counter fearsome rhythms with melancholy chords, the forward flowing synths float the listener over the near chaotic drum programming. finally, the album closes with the weeping strings and treated piano of anders, bizarrely twisted and warped sonics. one beautiful voyage!

aardvarcks ep nozum starts with a gorgeous chilled out remix by attica blues. further on, the ep provides a good insight of what his beautiful debut album will bring. three more chilled out, hardly to compare with other artists, beat freakery. and all tracks have again these deeply soulful and funky contrasts with the deeper atmospheres around. mixmaster morris, kirk degiorgio and jazzanova played out his releases in the past. this will have them as fans once again!

after busting ears with bloom 1 & 2, the infamous pig strikes again... less dubwise than the previous 12 inches the 4 dirty dubstep/bass tracks here take in aardvarck s acid and wave influences. he also keeps a bit tricky for the old headz. already smashing dancefloors in amsterdam!
