The Smallville collective has injected a real breath of fresh air into the house music scene. After launching their record shop in Hamburg city in 2005 they invited the most sophisticated artists of the european and american underground scene- such as Jus- Ed, Keith Worthy, Shinedoe, Sleeparchive, Omar S, Baby Ford & Thomas Melchior and many more to play at Hamburg’s love-spreading Allnighters. The Smallville Label, founded in 2006, is now set to release their first CD Compialtion “And Suddenly It’s Morning", that comes up with an incredible tracklist. The CD and four 12inches feature alltime favorite artists Lowtec, Dimi Angelis & Jeroen Search, STL, Sven Tasnadi, Move D & Benjamin Brunn plus rainy city’s newcomers Christopher Rau, Jacques Bon and Dionne- and of course Labelbosses Julius Steinhoff and Lawrence themselves. Starting with the deep flowing “Something Like Wonderful” by Julius Steinhoff, you have a perfect warm intro to be followed by Christopher Rau’s magically grooving track “Childhood". Lowtec’s tribute to Manchester’s meandyou party circle can be regarded as an anthem of lowest delights. Steinhoff & Hammouda with Dionne, Move D & Benjamin Brunn and Bon & Rau are the next dreamteams of deepness and the sound heard at the tracks of Sven Tasnadi and Lawrence follow their own definition of classic and unique production. Two more highlights end up the incredible CD- Dimi Angélis & Jeroen Search’s “Our Live With The Wave", a track based on Mike Huckaby’s incredible sample library, and STL with his outstanding “Neurotransmitting Clouds on the Secret Freeway". “And Suddenly It’s Morning” proves that there still are fresh impulses and innovations possible in contemporary House Music and beyond. The finished CD will come with a full 16-page Booklet done by Smallville’s finest Stefan Marx, who is responsible for every piece of Smallville’s beauty.
