The Manifesto: To celebrate our 10th release we are proud to present the first in a series of upcoming special edition packages; a musical declaration, if you like, of what the label is all about and our intentions going forward. All packaged neatly as a limited edition double vinyl with 2 exclusive vinyl only remixes from 2 very special guests. People Get Real make a return to their own imprint with their track San Dimas a slab of trademark bass heavy, mid tempo house business. Monoblok & PSLKTR’s remix adds an underground French flavour to proceedings. This duo from Lille have been lighting up dancefloors with their productions on Meant Records, and in their homeland for some time now. Most notably at N.A.M.E Festival and the Kiosk Club in Lille. Their remix comes with a distinctly live feel to it; the bassline is given a rawer re-rub making the overall feeling far grittier. This is definitely one for the late night/early morning crowd.
John Tejada needs little introduction, he is a producer and musician whose sound over the years has been a massive influence on all at Join Our Club. When the opportunity arose, we jumped at the chance to work with him! His remix of San Dimas shows us yet again why he is such a respected artist and demonstrates his meticulous approach to production. The remix bubbles and builds as each swooshing synth drops, teasing and coaxing every last drop of drama out of the track. James Welsh is new to Join Our Club’s roster but after receiving music from him over the course of several months it became clear that his sound fits the Join Our Club philosophy. James has turned his production skills to a stripped down, grinding version of house, sometimes even straying into the realms of disco. Grooving and booming basslines are a prominent feature of his work with the added fun of an addictive nagging vocal loop. These tracks give both a big nod to the past as well being very much a sound of now! Andy Blake takes the controls for the remix of Take It and slows the tempo and the groove but keeps the bass booming adding his “World Unknown” styling’s to proceedings. The track burns slowly letting the parts breathe before dropping with that huge bass kick and shuffling percussion.
