Spains Jazzler aka Dixie Yure has been around for a few years now, recording a string of superb releases for Fenou, Nordik and of course Flumo Recordings. The summer of 2011 sees him follow up last years - She Has EP - with an outstanding new track in the shape of - Beth & The Gamma Ray Fields. Recorded as an ode to a fan called Beth, - Beth & The Gamma Ray Fields - has already established itself as one of this summer big underground records, opening Lee Curtis Watergate compilation and being used by the club for their summer opening video.

The A side features the original version, a warm slow mo house cut with a nu disco feel. Analogue bass, rich piano chords and off kilter riffs combine with the atmospheric vocals to create a kind of electro/disco fusion cut that is an instant winner. Its easy to see why this record has been getting so much attention with its unique sound and spot on production.

The flipside features an epic thirteen and a half minute remix from My Favorite Robot and Rekids man James Teej. Teej sympathetically reworks the parts, retaining much of the character and melody of the original but twisting it out into an extended dubby mix that draws on a Moroder–esque bassline to superb effect. The arrangement builds slowly but with intensity towards a climatic ending of piano, keys and taught percussion, quality stuff.

This is a record that is destined to fill dancefloors in the months to come and is another impressive marker in the career of Dixie Yure and the catalogue of Flumo.
