Jay Haze aka Fuckponys superb ode to love in general and loved-up ravers in particular provides us with another sparkling gem: the second single from his current LP has the equally romantic and revealing title >I m burning inside<. It allows us to clearly feel that love-fuelled power, but never lets us get close enough to the fire to get seriously burned. Jays sound is simply a tad too cool for that. Despite all the emotional appeal, he always keeps a wink in store to save us right at the brink. The remixers Reboot and Paul Ritch give far more obvious signals. Both of them say loud and clear: dance!

Jay Haze aka Fuckpony's superb ode to love in general and loved-up ravers in particular provides us with another sparkling gem: the second single from his current LP has the equally romantic and revealing title "I'm Burning Inside". It allows us to clearly feel that lovefuelled power, but never lets us get close enough to the fire to get seriously burned. Jay's sound is simply a tad too cool for that. Despite all the emotional appeal, he always keeps a wink in store to save us right at the brink. The remixes of "I'm Burning Inside" give far more obvious signals. All three of them say loud and clear: Dance! Reboot aka Frank Heinrich has honed his skills with outstanding releases on Cocoon, Cadenza and Below. Connoisseurs often describe him as a spearhead of the new Frankfurt sound. His career as a remixer is still very young, although it got off to an extremely promising start on Cocoon's 2008 Disco Invaders mix compilation. For a newcomer to the remixing scene, Reboot takes a pleasantly experimental approach, starting with punchy drums, a super crisp, compressed kick and a growling bassline. Soon the wonderful piano and melody fragments from the original provide the dramatic direction, until finally you hear the unmistakable sound of the sun rising - and you're away! Paul Ritch immediately gets up a head of steam with a straight house loop. This cleverly uses Jay's vocal and piano elements to build tension and weave a tight, absorbing house track, one that you are only too happy be irresistibly pulled onto the dancefloor by. A work of art - and it's no surprise, considering that Paul Ritch, in addition to numerous releases on labels such as Resopal, Get Physical, Wagon Repair and Quartz Rec, has contributed to almost a dozen mix albums and shone with remixes for Ellen Alien, Tom Clark, Shonky and many more. Sierra Sam gets in on the act with a digital encore. Sammy Goossens and Jay Haze have been in league with one another since the collaboration of their labels Toys for Boys Records, Contexterrior and TuningSpork. Sammy's remix begins with a sense of moderation and numerous sonic citations, builds in tension, moves towards the heavenly piano riff of the original and finally takes a wonderfully laid back route to all-round after-hour pleasure.
