Hailing from Preston, England, where he came up in the early rave scene as a DJ warming up for the likes of Surgeon, Dave Clark and Regis, he eventually came into his own after discovering the charming and languid house of Mark E and The Revenge. For ‘Relapse / I Remember’, Cottam shows off his mastery of acid techno and slow-mo house grooves presenting two tracks made for the dancefloor. For the remix, Romanian born Berlin based producer Cosmin TRG, whose “Put You Down”/”Broken Hearts” – launched Ramadanman, Panagea and Ben UFO’s now much lauded label Hessle Audio, quickens the pace using eerie synths and shuffling drums to transform the original into one of his signature slow burning groovers
