After catching AMAM head Alessio Mereus attention, Avatism joined the roster last year along with The Selph for a collaborative EP. His latest solo venture, the Mindset EP, begins with >Jigsaw Poet<, delivering thick, meaty bass frequencies and a Spartan pulse with classic groovebox sounds, paving the way for some unpredictable split-second flashes of piano and organ. Halfway through, the track intercepts some distant radio signals with a distinguished voice offering some insight on Allen Ginsberg, a notorious all-night raver kid if there ever was one. >When You Feel< escorts the listener to a cabaret with its swingy, slinky aura and the somber vocals that mirror the androgynous voices of jazz divas from decades past.
