An a priori perilous exercise but the crew comes out of it more than honorably and highly recommended : shady. pernicious. crazy. -Klang Der Machinen- offers at last in height tunes (ten on cd) a total immersion on sound universe of these wild punks feed with industrial. hip-hop and new wave influences. Nachrichtentext ueber dramatische FfM-Flaechen-Sequenzen doch etwas zu sehr mit der -Konzeptalbum-Keule droht. Natuerlich geht es auf dem Album um eine in der angestrebten Konsequenz durchaus beeindruckende Fahrt mitten durch die Themenkomplexe -Mensch-Maschine. -Cyberrealitaet und -Hackertum. nichts Neues unter der Sonne also. zumal Rother selbst auch schon auf -Simulationszeitalter dieses Feld beackert hat. Der Unterschied zu seinem letzten Album besteht hier aber in der verstaerkten Ausrichtung auf den Floor und dem geringeren Einsatz von Vocals. was bei mir zunaechst mal Dankbarkeit hervorruft. Denn diese Tracks sind an sich kuehl-kickende. von einem lakonische Melancholie ausstrahlenden Sounddesign getragene. geschickt dramatisierte und arrangierte Tanzbodenfueller. die eben nicht. wie der etwas verbraemte ueberbau nahelegen wuerde. einen Oldschool-Futurismus a la Underground Resistance transportieren. sondern ganz klar in der Tradition von Rothers Heimatstadt Frankfurt verortet sind. so etwa das seine Trance-Sozialisation abstrahierende -Dualis oder die Arpeggios in -Model SM. Die Stimme stoert dann nur noch. In der falschen Stimmung beruehrt einen das mitunter sogar peinlich. wenn zum Beispiel das dunkel-zickige -Die Macht mit seinen modulierten Flaechen-Basslaeufen ein Break mit dem von einer B-Movie-Robot-Stimme vorgetragenen Slogan -Hier ... spricht ... die ... Macht! einleitet. Puuuh ... Aber wie gesagt: Halten wir Rother mal zugute. dass er diesmal wesentlich zurueckhaltender mit solchen Elementen arbeitet.
