opener laguna is a loopy, liquid track of fluttering drums and rubbery kicks that never lets up. ortica is more gloopy and wonky, with firmer kicks and aqueous sounds dripping off the groove, while lyra is beautifully delicate and intricate, with underwater life forms drifting by as gentle xylophones sounds dance around. the masterful minimalism continues on the dark, undulating and alien vilipendio, and things round out with the paranoid voices and panning synths of mekong , an unsettling track that has you looking over your shoulder.

the label from avion comes with its 9th installment releasing a full single ep from the canadian artist duo ’the automatic message’. the release starts with ’tessellation’ which brings up a dreamy atmosphere turning into a floor bomb with crashing analog snares a pushing drum and driving rides never losing its fragile built atmosphere. the b-­&#8208,side comes with a rough and storming track ’paint by numbers’ full of noises and driving percussions forming a killer of function to move the floor. closing the release with the ’towers of hanoi’ an acidic techno track creating an outer space full of noises and effects for special people in special locations leaving the world to be surreal.

next up on spazio disponibile is a pair of artists who played the party of the same name at goa, rome last year. their name is crossing avenue and their mo is to make experimental techno in a hi fidelity style that is as cerebral as it is physical. here they do so across four fantastic tracks.

in therapy is an electronic music label based in barcelona, founded and curated by rainer. music performance without the ego it s as much about empathy as it is about entertainment. use music to slip past the pain and gather insight into the workings of someone else’s mind. this release on in therapy represents the first full length hi-ryze recording since 1999. the red crossing ep consists of four tracks of extremely modern, off worldly, classic tracks.

after the successful -la jupe volante- project, whose b-side has been synchronised on the australian tv series the offspring (channel ten), kind & kinky zoo are back with some hard hitting pure laidback style music. they have received massive support both in the clubs and on the airwaves and now they are back, with on the flipside the help of lack of afro, or adam gibbons as he s known to his psychiatrist. two pistol paced and good-natured tunes as they are very capable of. a side - wonder zebra somewhere between retro psychedelia and afrobeat lies the wonder zebra. speeding along à la calibro 35, the feel is frantic and thrilleresque. now wonder kind & kinky zoo are a big hit on foreign tv shows. b side - v.l.a.m. (loa remix) a breezy bite-sike chunk of head nodding, foot tapping funky beats. led by a warm, sunny flute and irresistable rhodes, rather reminiscent of a 60s slice of dancefloor-friendly acid jazz. small but perfectly formed.

crossing back on the floor. avion delivers 2 new techno slices packed with mastermind remixes by tripeo and blind observatory. the release starts with the ‘intro‘ which brings up the mood of the record with futuristic signal bleeps and a warm analogue pad surrounded by kicking and stuttering percussions. the original of ‘centum‘ starts slowly to bring up heavy bassline surrounded by bright noises and alternating noise swirl verbed to voices highlighting partial explosions to end with bleep and soft strings. crossing 006 this time welcomes two fantastic artists as remixer and lays down ‘centum‘ to tripeo and blind observatory for their re-­&#8208,,interpretation. tripeo stays on the rough and kicking side of techno and delivers with his interpretation packed with the original strings and an analogue synth noise accompanied by a straight drumwork and cutted hi hats a kicking weapon for the floor. the myterious blind observatory takes the vibe of the original and pumped it with an acid bass to create a parallel universe built by dreamy strings highlighting the rides to lose control in the perfect moment. a real dancefloor killer.

pablo marco comes back to the label pushing out >crossing the river ep< as the seventh reference of lths catalogue. the artwork was painted by the young maestro from colombia, santiago ayerbe. all 4 tracks have been played over and over and they work for the dancefloor everytime. better to discover it by yourself.

on the leading edge of nycs underground music scene, vito ricci produced only a handful of self-­released cassettes and one lp between 1983-1985 with most of his work being recorded for experimental theatre and performance art pieces. taking their label name from vito riccis only lp, music from memory brings together a compilation of works by one of the unsung heroes of new yorks downtown music scene.

around7 follows up his two laidback funk/jazz albums for robsoul jazz with his first ever venture into house music. his double crossing ep released through the main robsoul recordings imprint on 4th april 2014. the parisian, who previously delivered the back to basics and soul on wire lps to critical acclaim, continues his production style of sampling complemented by live, organic sounds. producer influences such as j dilla and dj premier continue to be in evidence, alongside the jazz of miles davis, bill evans and the legendary blue note records, all given a 4/4 twist.the result is four stripped back tracks with a low slung, smoky atmosphere, packed pull of acoustic sounds and live instrumentation. those who remember joss moogs early outings on robsoul will also find parallels here around7s music career began as a bassist and trumpet player in a jazz/funk band. after learning to play keyboard and discovering the akai mpc sampler and software such as cubase, he merged all of his skills together to create his own tracks based around live instrumentation and samples.
