whomadewho, notoriously named after 1986s album by ac/dc, have always been hard to pin down, with their music sounding as effortless as it is stylistically and sonically adventurous. fusing pop and disco memes with punk paraphernalia, the genre-bending trio made up of jeppe kjellberg, tomas høffding and tomas barfod honed their skills on stage and in the studio, releasing a series of bestselling records topped off by their 2011 mini album >knee deep< on kompakt. now they return with the sublime full length >brighter<, due in early 2012 and shaping up to be one of next years highlights. its first single >inside world< is prime stuff as expected…jeppe kjellbergs characteristic vocal hit the pop-nerve in the verses while tomas høffdings soft falsetto holds the song together. second to none is the exclusive flipside, which features a grandiose acoustic version of >inside world< graced by the warm baritone from john grant, former lead vocalist with indie outfit >the czars< and critically acclaimed solo artist. clearly sharing his pivotal vision of pure craftsmanship and musical ingenuity, whomadewho never settled for streamlined mediocrity, thus churning out another instant classic that will rule our hearts and minds.

after an impressive debut with thugfuckers >disco gnome<, life and death returns for round two as it once again gives us its slightly psychedelic after-hours take on dance pop. here it s with a remix ep that features two stellar remixes of danish band whomadewho. the first remix comes from tale of us, the young italian duo who were quickly recognized for their incredible remix of disco gnome and who are already being recognized as one of the most promising new electronic acts to come out of italy in the last 5 years. the second remix comes from michael meyer, a pillar of dance music and an outstanding producer who truly needs no introduction. with a dreamy voice and haunting melodies that creep into your brain and stay there until well after the lights have come back up, >every minute alone< seems set to establish the new label as strong voice leading the charge into new territories along the borderline of dance and pop.
