known more for their dubby kosmische and psychedelic post-disko, glasgow label invisible inc seem to be wandering closer to the realms of the nightclub dancefloor these days. not that anyone s complaining. with recent outings by strange culture and sordid sound system taking the lead, this one by budapest s bal5000 is quite possibly their most dancefloor friendly release yet. all four cuts inhabit a space somewhere at the very edge of house but are steeped in soaringly cosmic italo-esque synth lines and bubbling, motorik arpeggios reminiscent of early 80s minimal.....the result is a real sonic treat: hypnotically transcendant, yet beautifully melodic, and all solidly underpinned by some seriously low-end sub-bass, tight rhythms and pistol-sharp snares.

a huge departure from his known works, marcos cabral appears on l.i.e.s. with his most dynamic and experimental work to date, the false memories 2xlp. compiled from various cassette tape recordings spanning the years of 1998-2000, here we have the early experiments from an accomplished producer, which showcase the unharnessed energy of youth when it crashes head on with the technology of the day. the songs created by cabral reflect his attempts of the music of the time falling somewhere in between techno, dub techno, idm, and even noise. an engaging and timeless listen the whole way through.

played and supported by luke slater, dvs1, laurent garnier, adam x, marcel fengler, samuli kemppi, inigo kennedy, jeroen search, truncate and more. asr is a record label with a strong inspiration in cosmology, physics and science fiction. with one foot in detroit and one in birmingham, asr is getting the techno in its original form beyond fads. we are believers in the true conception of electronic music as artistic expression and as message. our first release is also the first volume of the series vla, named in honor of the radio telescopes system in the very large array of new mexico (usa). radio transmission true to the sound of detroit and influenced by idm and the birmingham scene, radio trasmission presents a crude and analog sound, sometimes simple and sometimes twisted, synthesizing unconventional elements of the dancefloor with complex sounds and structures. the first track,grote reber, works around the omnipresent tr909 and the classic dx100 solid bass sound, building a powerful and effective track. in interferometry, a heavy and deep sub bass, leads the track around dub and post industrial ways. cyg x-1, is the only track that isnt 4x4, with noisy and punchy stabs all around, this works perfectly late in the night and in more uncommon sessions. the last track,vla is more melodic and relaxed. it is the perfect end for the whole record.
