das zweites soloalbum des zion i produzenten ist zugleich sein erstes für das plug research label (flying lotus, bilal, exile, etc.), welches nun in zusammenarbeit mit snow dog eine limitierte vinyledition veröffentlicht. amp live arbeitete bereits mit dilated peoples, planet asia, lyrics born (quannum), fashawn und remixte offiziell songs von goapele, underworld und linkin park. das album vereint einflüsse der aktuellen los-angeles-beat-szene, amp live ist ein leidenschaftlicher mpc handwerker, mit vocals von westcoast rappern wie mike g (odd future), opio (souls of mischief), grouch & eligh (living legends), planet asia als auch aufstrebenden gesangstalenten wie povi tamu, anya & prof und live instrumentierung von amp live selbst. das ergebniss ist ein lässiges, jazzbasiert groovendes werk, das zwischen electronca, indie, neo soul und hip hop mit den referenzen dilla, aloe blacc und outkast schwingt.

nice price deal !!! patiently waiting for the year of the dragon to commence, nick chacona & anthony mansfield are finally back with a 3 track ep of epically mental proportions! hector works numero uno duo take on a true journey to house music neverland with the peter vs pan ep. almost two and half years in the making, the boys reveal their many facets of cosmic, sleaze disco and acid wonk. one the a side, pan vs peter is a tech funk heavy slow house burner, that shimmers with dubbed out guitar, thumps with low end and grooves the like the funk brothers at opium afterhours. think vacum boogie meets silver connection and you are almost there. starting off the b-side is the eps title track peter vs pan and its right out the gate ncam drunkhouse maddness. a timeless disco house groove with a bassline so big that we were certain that it was gonna blow out the lathe and never actually get cut (thankfully mastering made sure that didnt happen :). and to round things out, the boys get hard on the acid house tip with terrys nightmare, an ode to the grouchiest bartender at peter lugers steakhouse in brooklyn ny.
