the 2 songs are remixed by south london-based artist klein (hyperdub), and tokyo-based experimental hiphop musician killer bong (black smoker records) mastered by bunsho nishikawa, who is known for his works with goat and tenniscoats, among others.

entitled -delicious depression-, it s a cohesive array of 8 tracks, ranging from deep house, through nu-disco to full frontal balearic. despite the ironic title, tha album offers a colourful adventure full of unforeseen twists. warm, sampled sounds are enriched by melodic synthlines and deeply detailed sound design. this outstanding production level is not surprising at all, considering that sosky is a rbma alumni (new york 2013, under the name en2ak). his vision of house music may look into the past for inspirations, but the results are fresh, effortless and amazingly contemporary.

argot records was born in 2006 in riccione (italy) from the stable relationship and friendship of the two musicians and djs pepe and giaga. they created it to make their music more freely, without impositions, with an own identity, fascinated on every kind of test.

my favorite robots next release is a very special remix by dj tennis. it initially comes as a 10 white vinyl and will then be available digitally in autumn. mfrs ‘barricade was first released on dj tenniss life and death label back in 2012. it was a huge house track that resonates to this day, so it makes sense the taste- making italian steps up to remix it. he is someone with a cultured take on brooding house and techno, as evidenced by the music he a&rs for his label as well as things like his own standout dj-kicks mix from last year. his new remix is a masterfully melancholic one that starts with a delicate ambient synth line hanging in mid air. breathy vocals eventually arrive to send shivers down the spine and finally, deep, rolling, mid tempo kicks bring a groove that carries you away into a reverie. its made all the more mournful and poignant thanks to some broad synth chords and swirling pads later on and is sure to provide a real centre point of any seriously emotional set. this is a stunning and absorbing single and another high point for my favorite robot records.

dj-kicks has tapped up life and death label founder dj tennis for the next instalment in its long running and landmark series, which is due for release on 14th july. the italian is the first artist to ever be granted not one but two discs across which to showcases his style, and he doesn’t disappoint.

dj tennis is amazing, and the fact that he was willing to do not one but two remixes for our simple symmetry release, is more than amazing. dj tennis needs no introductions, beside the point that he is one of the best djs around and has one of the coolest labels, life and death, he is a gifted producer that transformed the two tracks of the original release into monsters, one, plane goes east, is a disco winner, that just bangs with its percussive attitude, and the other, voodoo your ex is an amazing emotional journey that elevates the original to new heights, a vinyl to have and to hold.

without a doubt, manfredi romano (aka dj tennis) is a busy man. co-founder and partner of life and death, a dj with a full schedule and someone who still always has his fingers (and mind) in multiple projects and multiple places at the same time. how he juggles it (or when he sleeps) are questions best not pondered. one thing those who know him well have surely noticed is that he does it all while constantly on the move. unfazed by the constant whirl of cities that pass him by, he somehow manages to remain focused throughout. no matter where he goes, he somehow always manages to remain local.

soiree are back with another slice synergy that only these devoted individuals could make. the soiree sound is a gumbo of flavours bonded together with a lets have fun production ethos. max essa and stevie kotey created the soiree project to write quirky yet funky songs which show their love of experimentation.

>secrets< has also been remixed by arnaud le texier, owner of safari electronique, who has his latest releases on cocoon and bass culture. the last track on the vinyl is >slowly<, that has been remixed from tennis, aka manfredi romano, owner of life and death, who has given a peculiar touch at 116 bpm to the release.
