we ve waited a long time to bring you this, and finally, tiger stripes presents the 6th release on his strange idols label, and what a track this is, so worth waiting for! from its beginnings as a moodymann secret weapon, you could already hear the potential for underground techno greatness. running is both haunting and seductive... underground but strangely familiar... artificial but still organic...a living breathing techno organism...a creature of the dark.... a siren s call... let yourself be drawn in, let the voice seduce you... surround yourself with that rhythm... drown yourself in that groove...! san proper heard it a little differently and gave us his take on it, and gave life to a different kind of monster, way too powerful to contain. so we give you two different versions that share the same fundamental dna, two versions that are both so completely unique but still two equal parts of the same fantastic organism. strange idols will lead those who are willing.

new record on help recordings by the arhus quartet maizena. this one is one of those more relaxing and introvert records we put out to stress the fact that life is not always about dancing. pretty sounds and not too many unpleasant or scary moments. most of the music is in the vain of their earlier work on no hands, regelbau and help, a rhythmical ambient music. recorded in the isolated haelge studios surrounded by nothing but the sea and the mols mountains.

as an encore to the mesmerizing ccc: bb: bbb: jj release on kontra-musik, tyler friedman brings out his version of what he thinks -dj techno tools- are. this is music for the dancefloor alright, but it s a dancefloor from a strange and slightly uncanny dream. tyler explores the sonic field between the chillingly precise and the vivaciously warped - the disciplined and the untamed. he thrives in that space, creating an eerie microcosmos of evolving harmonies and rhythms that seem to have lives of their own - like music coming out from a haunted clockwork. a suiting apparatus for a label unconcerned with the conventions of time.

!! new koze !! seeing aliens unquestionably is a banger, its bass riff snaking around your body like a python, its high-drama strings, pianos and outbursts of noise designed for maximum crowd pressure release. but, again, it sounds like nothing else, and its dynamics and twists unfold over eight and a half minutes in ways that will mess with your head every time no matter how many times you hear it. the exclusive b-side track, nein könig nein (no king no!), meanwhile, is slightly gentler on the face of it: it’s less about sonic pressure, more about hip-shaking syncopation. but it too tells strange fairytales in its peculiar and brain-tweaking accumulation of detail, and though you’ll hear archetypal sounds from the heart of house and disco in it, every last one of them becomes new and otherworldly.

nice price deal !!! born near the french border and growing up in the 90’s, dirk lamprecht aka dml developed a strange but even more so strong interest in hardcore-techno. but this style quickly became too limited for him and he adopted the sound of detroit, carl craig, kenny larkin and robert hood became the most influencial artists for him. over the years he became affiliated with an even greater spectrum of musical influences, ranging from all sorts of electronic music to jazz and even world music. in addition he graduated as an audio engineer and started to perform as a live act in 2002. more knowledge consequently leads to a much more diverse way of producing own tracks. in 2007 dirk lamprecht made his debut under his alias >dml< on the legendary label harthouse. his productions range from tribalistic via hypnotic, with a hint of detroit under his real name and from a touch of minimal, through melodramatic to straight techno under his alias dml

we are proud to present our second release by beat pharmacy aka brendon moeller aka echologist, a singular voice in contemporary electronic, techno, and sound system musics in his various guises. beat pharmacy tunes begin life as live hardware jams where reverb, echo and delay rule the day, and rugged textures rub against digital processing. in “density,” bass, kick and heavily reverbed piano skanks anchor an instantly enveloping soundworld of deepest dubwise ambience. from around hidden corners emerge the hiss of distant pistons and valves, sentient machinery working in complex relationships. wobbles, wubs and sweeps communicate across cavernous spaces, as strange rhythmic elements sputter and spatter, tangling and massing in double-time to the point of rupture, only to resolve into crystalline moments of suspension into gorgeous, neck-snapping drops. simply mesmerizing, and heavy in the dance. “everything to gain” is spun from the same heavy metals, with a sparser feel, processed voice, and a buzzing, repeating alarm figure that sounds like a submarine warning that the dive is getting too deep, too dangerous… music that is moving, powerful, evocative and kinetic, slotting beautifully into 140 sets while defying easy categorization or description, always following vision over fashion. this is why we love beat pharmacy.

we celebrate our number 30 with a double pack, featuring one of the creators of techno in spain: groof.roberto gemelin, from madrid, is groof. hes robert calvin too. no matter which of his alias you know him by, hes one of the most active producers in the madrid arena.aka robert calvin, he released materials with turbo (tigas label) in 2004, having previously collaborated with star whores in a joint release with alek stark (2002). also important are the remixes he did for disko b or for sindicato records and msx, paying tribute to megabeat with his recreation of the great classic strange.his background as groof is even more extensive, as his early steps go back to the times of minifunk (the cheeky and shameless label from barcelona that was then managed by omar and dj loe). with them he recorded mambo! (1999) and i want you(2000). he has also recorded with warmup, fieber, rainwaves or shareware records.at the end of the ninetees groof shared quite unusual with oscar mulero: the start of a deep friendship that nowadays brings us wu30 mini-album.

the current single >strange< is continuing the story of the previous success with the - as edbanger busy p described it - lfo meets herbie hancock sounding single >talk to me< which was released on turbo and became one of the biggest tunes of 2010.
>strange< has now been signed to dr. lektroluvs label and will definitely become a very big tune too. the single will be released with strong remixes by boris dlugosch (who recently released the amazing >bangkok< on erol alkans label phantasy music), polymorphic (from proxys label mako) and gomma records labelhead munk (remember >la musica<!). for sure an amazing package!!

the psychological poets drop some nasty beats here. it took a while for this record to finally arrive after we got the first demosent. not strange with this group of intellectuals from bulgaria who are constantly in group therapy for a hobby! the original mix of remix (whats in a name) is funked up techno flavoured infective beats, topped with a hard to resist melody.
