hammered by: david phillips, sebastian leger, mike monday, nudisco, fex, martin eyerer…. german label combi int kicks off 2007 with three crispy minimal tracks, aiming straight at the dancefloor. well, what also could one expect from a 12 inch called >tony der schieber< (tony the pusher). in charge of combi ints fifth release is frankfurt producer reboot aka frank heinrich, who adds a dark tech-flavour to the labels versatile profile. building up slowly >tony der schieber< is a track rich of detailed rhythm- and sound-programming. no wonder that this guy is sharing his studio with promising cocoon-artists ingo boss and chris tietjen.

sebastian maschat a.k.a. stoneage kid has been around in the house music scene for about 15 years now: cult stoner house with extra produktionen , drummer in erlend oye s whitest boy alive and numerous other projects. stoneage kid is an hardware / mpc based act, with own vocals and a very distinctive electro pop aesthetique. his first ep on smile for a while creally sounds like captain comatose meeting isolee in some purple haze panic room. you ll find melancholic drum machine jams, some serious synths, lotsa vocoder and a lot of bassline-bumping. phillip lauer delivers a refreshingly cheesy remix with god singing solo and the holy ghost on drums just as expected. hang on to a dream is quite a special tune, written and sung by german indie veteran otto von bismarck. this remix version is really something for intimate connoiseurs of both pop and house music.

prekaere bonvivants, begnadete musiker, radikale typen, von spar sind vieles, vor allem aber eine der erstaunlichsten bands aus jenen gefilden, deren spannendere musik von den briten krautrock getauft wurde. sebastian blume, jan philipp janzen, christopher marquez und phillip tielsch wurden in der vergangenheit šfter als wiedergŠnger des genres gefeiert (u.a. lieferten sie 2012 gemeinsam mit stephen malkmus vor den augen der geruehrten can-gruendungsmitglieder irmin schmidt und jaki liebezeit eine neuinterpretation des albums ege bamyasi auf dem kšlner weekend festival), auch wenn sich die vier gleicherma§en von techno, synthpop, noise, postpunk und neuer musik inspirieren lie§en.

von spar is an artist collective from germany consisting of sebastian blume, jan philipp janzen, phillip tielsch and christopher marquez. the cologne-berlin quartet serves up a veritable ear-worm as an amuse bouche prior to their third album >foreigner<, which will be released at the end of may 2010 on italic recordings. the four deliver a rousing anthem enriched with a krauty disco groove and soulful close-harmony vocals for all of those late-night culture-vultures, oddballs and mother-in-laws nightmares propping up the bars at the discotheques of this world.
