der gehypte britische produzent ross from friends veröffentlicht ep auf flying lotus’ brainfeeder! der britische produzent ross from friends aka felix clary weatherall ist das neueste signing bei flying lotus’ brainfeeder-familie. der 24-jährige hat schon eine handvoll releases auf dem buckel, die im endeffekt die logische destillation seiner zahllosen einflüsse aus u.a. der cut & paste-kultur des hiphop, aus 80er-eurodance, hi-nrg, italodisco und unwiderstehlich rauen dancefloor-tracks. er debütierte 2015 bei breaker breaker, woraufhin veröffentlichungen bei lobster theremin und auf ihrem schwesterlabel distant hawaii, bei magicwire (dem label von produzent lone) und zuletzt molten jets folgten. 12 inch: limitierte schwarze 12” standard vinyl in weißer hülle mit sticker.

from the knowledge gained on our expeditions, we are able to track down the jets fired during each unique eruption and share them with the people of this majestic orb.
the first squirt led us to the yard in hackney, where ross from friends performed live for one of the first few times in his already sparkling career.
>from the performance came a track called ‘champagne’, a wave of sax washing over you accompanied by plinking guitar and of course those fuzzy hi hats that go right to your head.
this track could previously only be experienced by seeing the trio play live or by watching our documentation of the performance, until now.

when a deservedly hyped label like no.19 music states that its biggest release is about to drop then a certain amount of attention is due and thats exactly what the labels 19th release, tanner ross >b side ep<, deserves. despite having clocked up an impeccable discography that takes in collaborations with soul clap (as sect) and sergio ross as well as output for freerange, airdrop, culprit and dirty bird this is ross first solo release under his given name and is causing a enormous buzz via consistent plays from label-boss jonny white (art department), crosstown rebels main-man damian lazarus and a few close friends of the family. adding to the two stunning originals, b side and 4 u ft. flo night , and pushing things into unmissable territory is a brilliant remix of the latter from crosstown rebels / wolf & lamb family member, deniz kurtel.

for our 225th release on freerange we welcome an exciting new austrian producer who goes by the name demuja. his mary janes theory record caused something of a stir when it came out at the start of the year on his fledgling vinyl-only label muja. having now clocked up over 300k plays on youtube and reportedly being offered for silly money on discogs it’s clear to see there’s a buzz on this guy, and when you check his music you’ll hear why. taking his inspiration from classic deep house but with a rough and raw approach, demuja can sit proudly alongside the likes of ross from friends, mall grab or rimbaudian riding the new wave of fresh, contemporary house. on his freerange debut, the move ep offers up four original tracks, eachwith their own distinct flavour. opening the release we have title track move spring into action with simple rhodes chords floating across a crisp, driving up-tempo groove showing off the deeper side to demuja. next up b.o.o.m offers us a simple yet captivating, dancefloor-focused affair with a lone, repeating piano stab hooking us into the action. flipping over we have into my brain which brings some acid-tinged italo vibes and a jacking beat to proceedings whilst the closing track turn me on cuts up a much- loved paradise garage classic for a warm, soul-infused slice of classic, bumpy house music
