the fourth release from london-based label eya continues to shape out an intriguing identity that nods to classic techno tropes while charging ahead with their own agenda. label boss jos -planet eya- sets a lively pace with its forthright drum machine jack offset by warm synth licks. evil knebel matches the tempo and weaves in a cosmic set of tones, which poten then cosigns with the equally trippy, propulsive -intransigence-. jos is back at the helm for closing track -purify-, which strikes a darker tone without losing that raw, vintage techno flavour that makes this label one to watch.

for its third release interstate records welcomes dold. throughout releases on polegroup, mindtrip or his very own imprint arsenik, the swedish producer has shaped a distinctive sound - raw, minimalistic yet warm and energetic. for ins003 he delivers two tracks. while the title track, �version�, demonstrates dold�s darker side, �rise and fall� bears a more hopeful tone. although the vibes are different, both tracks are driven by the same raw 909 - infused drums that have made dold one of the hottest swedish talents in the first place. as in previous releases, the two originals are accompanied by two remixes on the b-side. the first one comes from virgo and soma records protege slv. while focusing on the synth of the title track, smacking percussions and dark tribal sounds add a more punchy and energetic vibe to the original. klockworks affiliate newa, however, laid eyes on the pads and strings. through carrying �version� into slightly more playful and spheric worlds the georgian delivers an ideal closing to this records.

for the record the artist presents a sonic curation of her work ë.ctu_isbtmí. operating in a space between sculpture, code and electronics, the system scans 3dimensional objects via a live video feed and programmatically encodes the artistís glass sculptures within a language of pitches and rhythms using samples as a transla- tive matrix. following samples are used : 0 basketball, 1 tennis, 2 swim, 3 scubadive, 4 helicopter, 5 race, 6 golf, index side a: codes sounds were produced from rotating black glass objects whose shapes determine the parameters of a 2d synthesis space. side b: the resulting sounds are live coded into musical pattern. along with byrke louís sound piece the physical record features words by agf.

7 track ep/mini album by l/f/d/ms richard smith dream bleeds overflows with body jerking industrial, raw acid/techno, and hints of the warehouse sound of the late 90s and the caustic spirit of ebm. richard smith says about dream bleeds, attaching meaning to songs is often arbitrary but when the visceral feeling of music, particularly instrumental body music, is laid bare, the interaction is immediate and physical. these tracks thread together each starting point completely open, each new step informed by the last. i find it interesting that the process is the same but the outcome somewhat unexpected shaped by emotion, inspiration or even constraints of time, they evolve as they do in that time. they reach a different end point due to that evolution of circumstance.

following their first dive into the archives of earguard studio which led to bm02, basic moves have tapped the source again and selected two raw,previously unreleased productions from 1996. for dj deg,this was a transitional period: a moment to look back on the genesis of circadian rhythms and a time to look forward to both personal and artistic evolution. on the a-side of bm06 lies a track where house and techno come together to shape a mysterious, hypnotic atmosphere. �sinh session� is coloured with the warmth and passion that deg absorbed from his musical influences of the time and it reflects an era of great emotional importance: for him,each track holds a story.

2017 saw cesar merveille & ryan crosson deliver their second long player in the shape of cerulean, drawing on their modern classical, jazz, ambient and abstract influences to create yet another unique listen featuring collaborations with a classical pianist, trumpet, guitar and double bass players. here we see those original parts eschewed into something entirely fresh from friends and close associates of the duo. leading on the release is cadenza boss lucianos sous le sol interpretation of arp, which twists and turns through the hypnotic chimes and emotive piano chords of the original whilst stirring in luciens signature modulating and intricately evolving rhythmic style. following is a collaborative rework from new yorks phil moffa and seth troxler which employs ethereal synth drones and stuttering vocal cuts alongside a bumpy percussive drive and pulsating subs. perlons bruno pronsato steps up next to remix even tides, delivering his typically raw and emotive style via glitched out, mind-bending percussion, elongated bass drones and cleverly reshaped cuts of the originals cinematic elements. l.as clovis then closes the package with his remix of nordic bummers, employing shuffled hats, lumpy subs and crunchy claps at its core whilst horn swells and aiy atmospherics ebb and flow throughout.

the second volume of the bld remixed series is here. once again, original tracks previously released have been revisited by artists that support the label since the beginning. in such good shape nowadays, oliver deutschmann delivers an outstanding remix of acid on mars pushing the limits of warehouse techno & jackin house faded with warm & hypnotic detroit chords and space-pads. as the name indicates, minneapolis legend freddy fresh delivers an ethereal mix of before deep full of nostalgic dreamy synths reminding us of his 1995 return to phantazia vibes. last one is coming from prolific asok bringing a raw and banging rework of be apart based on 808 electro beats & breaks combined with a crunchy bassline.

the north east of england is known for its role in helping to shape the uk house and techno club landscape during the late 80 s and throughout 90 s. it�s infectious and raw energy engaged slip-d from a young age exposing him to a number of venues including the riverside, empire, pleasure rooms and the hedonistic rockshots. drawing inspiration from the scene along with potent labels like svek, guidance and shaboom that came in to prominence in the late 90 s, a bedroom studio set up of amassed hardware funded on a basic income was then formed over time. residence in teesdale avenue, regular local car thefts and the wail of the rag and bone man all assembled themselves as a formula of what was happening outside the 4 walls of the studio. the vaulted hypnoelectronix no.1 finally got pressed after some years, and transports us to the true crux of that era. more material to follow in 2017 on the hpnx imprint...

currently based in barcelona, orphidal is a producer and dj from the iberian peninsula. he has given shape and form to his own personal soul searching, and the result is four original and varied cuts. the sound spans dreamy house to raw atmospheric techno and dubby house, making this record conducive to dance floors of all kinds.

spencer parker returns on his own imprint this march with a four-track track release as part two of the three part different shapes and sizes series. following on from the raw and stripped back house jam aesthetic as seen in part one, parker kicks off this techno release with size information a track with driving kicks, subtle atmospherics, and infectious panning percussion. next up is shape deviation, which hones in on a twisted 303 arpeggio and is saturated in white noise and backed up with entrancing drums, before shape fascination goes into full drum machine workout mode with off kilter 808 claps fuelled by a hypnotic synth bass line. size devotion rounds off the release with its raw and distorted kicks and simplistic yet effective mesmeric male vocal samples.

dub is the keyword, techno is the way. the very first autarchy release represents a rapidly and constantly changing momentum. there is a black and white atmosphere that surrounds the whole vinyl four-tracker. the skilled italian duo alpi make their mark on the a side, together with the wrong assessment darker reinterpretation, shaped around solid textural processing and raw rhytmatics. it s mainly a techno release, yet xdb delivers his own breakbeatish and more reflective vision of the b side, produced by label artists complementary opposites. the label is at the moment under the radar, working through a connection operating into events, music production and label management in between italy and germany.

back in the days at the west-saxon highlands there was a missile, which marked the starting point. when credit 00 saw the legendary rocket rise on tetris� final screen, it was the first time he became aware of electronic music at all. since then it actually hasn�t changed that much. he keeps pushing that buttons that belong to the impressive pool of music machines towered up next to his bed. after moving to dresden in 2000 to study fine arts, his passion for synthesizers and drum machines got nurtured through visits of dresden�s club-canalisation. he quickly made himself a name as a dj, who is just doing his own thing and got popular for that reason. as a part of the idealfun-crew he started hosting parties always in the twilight zone between legal and illegal. this led to �robo dance�, dresden�s only and (also for some other reasons) best electro club night featuring guests like dmx krew, luke eargoogle or imatran voima. the track credit made with randy barracuda of imatran voima has probably been created some time after the show. apparently, randy was not in good shape anymore and so �lebensraum� unmistakably bears credit�s hallmarks. for his own music he�s inspired by cannibal movies, number theory and birds. still, his music is not easy to pigeonhole. after all, he loves synth wave, electro, afro, kraut, kosmische, disco, italo, miami bass and other proto stuff � a lot of machine music.

the third instalment of the stil vor talent berlin compilation series brings forth a new gang of carefully selected artists, gathered under the umbrella of another underground berlin hotspot. kottbusser tor is undoubtedly the beating heart of kreuzberg, unashamedly pulsating 24/7 with the good, the bad and the ugly. theres no place quite like it, thanks to its raw charme. as always, music is the common denominator and oliver koletzki delivers the perfect soundtrack with this new release, while chrisse kunst renders the visual.

french artist kool vibe is back on his own paris-based label kv records with a new 4 track ep. true to the mission assigned to the label, this release brings us back to the early 90s through basics sounds and elements which have defined deep house since then : fat syncopated rhythms, heavy and groovy basslines, warm chopped vocals. there is something raw and genuine about this record. basics and back to the reala definitely emphasize the minimal and raw side of deep house. tribute is humbly dedicated to the legendary todd terry, whose ultimate knowledge of the art of sampling contributed to shape house music in the early days. at last, sleazy joint (touch it, suck it) closes the record with a nasty and sexy touch. anyway, the whole ep is meant for the dancefloor and the simple pleasure of partying.
