the second release on infidel bodies has as its protagonist -le moderniste- for his debut on the italian label, he produced an album industrial / rhythmic noise, a tribute to some legends of noise music such as: marco corbelli (atrax morgue), maurizio bianchi, tairy ceron (today i m dead), rozz williams. this album is an evocation to sacrality and mysterious fascination of death. the artist radicalizes his sound in this release, getting the result: -a strong work, dark, dirty, it smells death and filth- (le moderniste) this special edition provides a particular package composed of two bags stapled with inside: transparent cassette c60 pro-dubbed, artworks (by paul van trigt), hand-sewn insert, black nitrile gloves.

kicking off this four track ep is one of yuri s most dynamic productions to date. wildly oscillating synths and snapping handclap-led house beats drive east west connection , while what starts out as an acid synth shifts through a cycle of changes before evolving into a detroit-style riff. both nervous arp and morning at home take the same palette of sounds into much deeper territory, touching base with electro funk and straight up jazz-fusion, highlighting yuri s versatile musicality and distinctive production style. modular is an older track of yuris - a non-stop ride through wonky, synthesized fusion with hypnotic keys and rolling drums.

the second part in his modernista initiation and this release sees tom mcconnell confirm his production versatility, merging diverse influences and sounds into a singular identity. 77 is rhodes-led house meets jazz, driven by drum box disco beats interspersed with surreal strings. hurled towards jupiter is a suitably atmospheric (cosmic?) track with swirling arpeggiated keys underpinned by a heavy bass line and off centre tribal percussion. peacefoot follows its own path, morphing from a submerged disco loop into a slow polyrhythmic acidic burn and back again.

modernista records reaches it’s fifth release and it’s over to paul bennett again with a pair of impressively varied productions. * on before off* is stripped to the bare bones techno with ever contorting razor-sharp arpeggios. as a counter balance, * although sometimes appear* is deep, emotive, melodic house with sound system-shaking bottom end.
