cd edition in 2-panel digipack, 20-page booklet with exclusive pictures and notes from jeanne moreau, fran�ois truffaut and cyrius bassiak (aka. serge reznavi).an emblematic actress and a memorable figure of the french chanson scene, jeanne moreau passed away in 2017. she started singing as an amateur in theatre like the comŽdie fran�aise, but always wanted Òto sing balladsÓ. the man who wrote her first songs was her friend: the painter cyrus bassiak (pseudonym of serge rezvani) and like for many other artists jacques canetti was the one who brought her to a recording studio to record her first songs in 1963. this album pays homage to jeanne moreau by compiling for the very first time all the songs written by cyrus bassiak, including 4 songs that were nowhere to be found until today.

paris, 1954. henri-françois rey wrote the thema of the piece la bande à bonnot and asked boris vian to write the songs in order it to become a musical comedy. la bande a bonnot was the name of a french illegal anarchist group. as soon as the piece was played at théâtre du quartier latin, french authorities made it being stopped. musical parts have been lost. 1971, jacques canetti has been told the original handwritten lyrics of the boris vian songs have been found again. jacques canetti asked louis bessières to re create music parts. 1975, jacques canetti released this record with songs being performed by judith magre, yves robert, lucienne vernay, pierre jamet, kim ibarra, maurice barrier & cécile vassort + 2 bonus tracks whose lyrics were suppsoed to be too for the original spectacle.

this record won the 1964 french prize grand prix du disque. this is an absolutely amazing recording, done in one non stop only time in simone signorets own parisian flat. simone signoret, cult french actor, reads la voix humaine by jean cocteau. according to jacques canetti himself, this performance was one of the very best and most intense he ever recorded. even if you dont understand french, you will feel simone signorets incredible poignancy.
