clint stewarts * shelter ep* ist gleichzeitig ein meilenstein in der geschichte von second state, da zum ersten mal überhaupt unser mann der stunde - stephan hinz - einen remix dazu beisteuert. lange deep-bass-parts und treibende trommeln des titeltracks entführen uns hypnotisierend zu einem unvorhersehbaren ort der glückseligkeit. kompromisslos und unheimlich jagen dagegen töne und frequenzen auf der flipside -l714- wie kometen durch den technoiden kosmos. wer bisher eine musikalische härte vermisst hat, kommt mit dem remix von stephan hinz auf seine kosten. mit mächtigen trommelschlägen baut dieser eine nahezu greifbare spannung auf, ohne die grundidee des tracks aus den augen zu verlieren. die * shelter ep* ist ein zeitloses komplettpaket, welches keine wünsche übrig lässt.

wie auch bei seiner ersten -warpaint ep-, steht hinter der neuen -throwing stones ep- von clint stewart das musikalische konzept mit je zwei verschiedenen stimmungen auf jeweils einer seite der platte. -throwing stones- ist ein track, der sich am wohlsten in clubs mit einer dunklen, mysteriösen atmosphäre mit strobe lights fühlt. -come undone- hingegen steht mit seinen warmen und rhythmischen akzenten im kontrast zur a-seite.

after remixing pan-pots >gravity< earlier this year, san francisco sound duo clint stewart and marc smith are back on the mobilee imprint together as safeword on the 96th release. the 3-part ep is a soulful beat-ballad musically defining the three most present phases of the evolution of human love.
