in quick succession to arcs-03, which boasted remixes by the mover, shifted and peder mannerfelt, cassegrain keep up the pressure with a new ep of originals arcs-04. returning to their tunnelling hypnotic trademark sound over three focused, club-ready trips, the arcing seas heads channel varied and irrepressible moods into each track. built on solid dancefloor founda-tions and rich in colourful, non-conventional sound design, they scan through tribal ritualism with a side shahmaran, moving to the pumping urgency of caracal and the rolling post-acid workout of vulpine arcs-04 is a straight-up dj-friendly 12inch, something that’s conveyed in the record’s more minimalist artwork.

cassegrain & tin man are a deadly combination. old school acid lines programmed by one of the greatest masters in this field meet a super modern techno sound design by cassegrain, who have made themselves a name in the last years for producing some of the finest in dark and experimental techno. for the follow up to their debut release on killekill they have put together three tracks that are outstand- ing. high & low is a slowly swelling minimalistic acid epos of over 10 minutes length which proves the mas- tership of tin man in programming acid loops of eternal quality. 8 beats length only, but constantly evolving. no chance for boredom. the b-side starts with sex kit, a dark acid stomper with a chirping percussion which is well suitable for the peaktime dancefloor, followed by sand maze, a sublte minimalistic ambient acid piece, that winds its way into total dissolution. we are quite sure that this is the way acid should sound in 2013.

inaugurating 2016 with lee holman’s debut ‘one man army’ on raw waxes, the italian imprint welcomes the new year with a series of remixes of the irish producer’s release of last may, which feature four benchmarks of contemporary techno: cassegrain, distant echoes, haiku and kimyon. the record is out on 12” vinyl format. it comes on black vinyl with an additional hand numbered paper insert realized by german illustrator benedikt rugar, who also designed the illustrations of lee holman’s ‘one man army’, the drawing is a continuation of that release’ visual abstract porn concept.

fever am comes from a berlin connection between a pair of artists with roots on either side of the mediterranean sea and on both sides of the atlantic. label founders mor elian and rhyw (one half of cassegrain) share many musical reference points reaching back to early childhood right up to the present including the deeper, darker reaches of electronic music. the label is the pair’s rawest and truest realisation of these influences.
