the mighty dungeon meat s marauders into the finest club cuts continues with their first offering of 2017 and their first various artist e.p on the label. a collection of dance floor dynamite set to detonate as soon as the needle hits the groove. here we see the boys recruiting some new beat bandits with ron obvious and per hammar and also reviving one of the og dungeon masters blunt instruments. each one bringing the the heat with their prime cuts of meat, making this one hefty slab of wax that is a sure fire winner for those dark strobe lit rave chambers. as with all dungeon meat release these are tried and tested for maximum ass-assination.

all recorded live in one or two takes most, using a roland mc 505, roland aira tr8, some fx pedals, recorded in cassette on a tascam 424. wich is the same set up i use to play live today. i cant remember now , but maybe 2 was recorded directly in the computer, live,in 1 channel.

master of minimal wave sonics alessandro parisi has spread his full-bodied synth wares around such esteemed labels as slow motion, charlois, giallo disco, lux rec and more besides, and now he slides up to vivod with an ep of noirish fantasies you ll be hard pushed to resist. -crossfire- is the more uptempo cut, but -ravens- paints a more vivid picture of retro-fetishistic club music in dangerous places. -praying sages- goes all out on the soundtrack vibe, but not before it s been remixed by mick wills, who casually threads a driving techno undercarriage into the track to create a strangely transcendental slab of cathedral-ready body music.

syne is the new alias of dennis huddleston (aka 36), who is likely to be a familiar name to those of you who follow the modern ambient scene. the syne label is dedicated to his techno/dancefloor orientated productions, where wistful strings and drifting pads meet vintage drum machines and 808 basslines. from the melodic, midnight electronics of syne 2, to the thunderous dread march of syne 5, culminating in the moody blade runner-esque vibes of syne 8, the syne lp is sure to find its place with lovers of deep, emotional techno music.

the nassau sessions were recorded in nassau bahamas in march of 2013 using zero analog equipment. this debut 7inch features four sedated, rum-fueled dubs by double pelican man. the sounds chosen are familiar to the dub reggae lexicon. deep sub bass, guitar chords, synth bleeps and clacking percussion. all drenched in echo and reverb, each ingredient added with careful consideration to the mix. the rhythms tumble and sway confidently. grooves are proudly extended, while the occasional overdub effect gives each track a paradoxically haunting undertone

a true 1991 detroit techno gem carefully re-issued - pure class! repress

hailing from the london rat race, mux step forward with the first release on teenage father and lay their distinctive style out for all to witness. their broad-reaching indie rock sound has undertones of electronica, grunge and a very british swagger that deserves to get them onto radio playlists and festival line ups aplenty. -mdma- rumbles along somewhere between soulwax, kasabian and queens of the stone age, while -teenage father- ups the intensity with a punky thrum behind the raucous guitars and grinding synths, and then -stray- finds the band mixing up the time signatures for the most adventurous cut on the record.

sebastian eduardo burst onto the scene in 2016 with a fine debut ep entitled ultima necat, now comes his second ep, this time released in the untold stories protagonist series. dedicated to the legendary poet hanshan, the ep is a deep and personal offering, it keeps to the style which made his debut so appreciated: positively charged, quirky and enlivening micro house, but this time there s a deeper personal dimension to the tracks, a nice development and another welcome offering from the young swiss producer.

london based club night and newly formed label snap crackle & pop s third releases comes in the form of a dark take on new wave influenced techno from berlin based new yorker curses. side a kicks off with a hypnotic techno stomper another view which playfully tips its hat to early electro albeit through a visor of coldwave inspired guitars. together in the dark delves into even darker territores with ice cold organs reaching for the light through the grinding ambient yet groovy undertones. on the b-side inga mauer ramps up the dancefloor tension with her machine like acid rework pulsating and crashing urgently together in the dark, whilst the golden filter turn out a low slung trip of brooding synths and haunting vocals before cascading down the rabbit hole in a swell of industrial motorik beats and percussive explosions in their take on another view

a second release for londons future primitive records brings to the fore a new hand-picked selection of hard to find if not overlooked tracks from wolfgang voigt, dj guy and fernando corona, aka murcof. all of the music to feature on this four-track recast ep was previously subject to tape or cd only release. lifted from his only album as love inc., wolfgang voigt s income sits primo as the a1, holding firm 22 years after its original release. predating voigt s work as gas, its caustic chords, shimmering melodies and chilled 90bpm vibe render it a production borne from the classic dub techno blueprint of the early-to-mid 90s. an early take on slo-mo techno. the dat tapes of dj guy have again been raided, with future primitive joining a select cast of followers to rejuvenate the englishman s productions with an edit that appeared on his tape for crisis urbana. both b-side tracks botas de oro and secondary inspection theme come from murcof s one time terrestre alias, a project from the earl 2000s which fuses textural, slow-motion and minimal house sensibilities with mexican banda and norteno music aka nortec, a micro-sub-genre to come out of tijuana. loose percussion, swung drums and winding rhythms are made all the more esoteric through the subversively climactic nature of terrestre s music.

with the second release noland tracks moves from nigeria to poland: non human persons saturn melancholia is an early song of the polish band based on guitar & voice + processor, recorded in warsaw some years ago. with their remix gebrüder teichmann turned the song into a sacral techno anthem. a deep and dark trip with nico in the heart and mdma in the blood. the b-side features the original track plus a beautiful hand carved image by brenda alamilla.

story writes the first tale for koepel, sketching his object on this first 12inch on our new imprint. out of this object emerge three evolving tracks, with a trace of melancholia and wayfaring, that unveil the artist s explorative nature

emerging through storm-like waves of distortion, opener ‘alpha’ sets the scene for this beguiling cassette release, with melodies rising out of — and then descending back into — the chaos. ‘3000 years’ takes vocal samples as a starting point, before melting into layer upon layer of delay, after which ‘confounded’ picks up the pace with its heavily distorted beats and the side then closes to the sound of a distant choir burning in acidic ambience in the shape of ‘fruitless clicking’. the nightmarish, malfunctioning machinery vibes continue onto the second side, with the more dance oor-friendly ‘strange conversations’ and ‘the brink’ bookended by the two-part ambient epic ‘pale blue dot’. dark, glitchy, and at times outright uncomfortable — perfectly suited to the cassette format.

after a short break, caduceus records returns with a weighty techno 12inch by long-time friend pascal hetzel. the berlin-based producer delivers four storming tracks that cleverly translate the 90s techno heritage into the present. on motion blur a hypnotic bleep sequence gives way for majestic pad sweeps just in time for your serotonine rush. -stutter- is more restrained, with a modulating chord sequence and sturdy drums, while -timelapse- catapults into darker territory filled with industrial shrapnel and an extra bit of high-octane paranoia. strobe is the fittingly titled closer of the ep. a pummeling piece of monochrome techno hypnosis with a massive kickdrum drenched in reverb and icy atmosphere.

with the 3-track ep mantra joix opens a new dimension in his electronic music. for the first time he uses his own voice on a larger scale, giving it a machine-like sound that transforms and heightens the meaning of his german words.

the lead track -mantra- refers to the techno movement in germany in the 90s, which joix lived and breathed as a teenager. those mystical experiences staying awake all night in rooms full of light and sound ÔÇ came close to the trance states attained by chanting mantras. this is the main idea and the emotional inspiration behind this pulsating a-side track.

a touch of nostalgia also comes through -w?ñchter der nacht-. this tune channels the mysterious night, the search for ecstasy and self-dissolution in music clubs protected by the guards of night. finally, klimax is a dancefloor banger that distinguishes itself by whipping up immense energy, and its space-filling melody and enormous hall cascades.

after some excellent digital releases on editorial and ism as well as a fantastic remix of kraak & smaak on jalapeno as one half of allovers we are very happy to release i gemin s debut vinyl ep on pressed for time entitled the let s move ep , it features two superb deep house numbers in the trademark i gemin style - chunky, hypnotic and soulful. we were big fans of both tracks here at pft hq so we got head honchos yse and goshawk on remix duties. yse reversions it s about trust in a tougher, trackier style with some mood ii swing-esque spoken word vocal on the flip goshawk gets his talons into let s move upping the tempo slightly and adding a bumping bassline whilst keeping the soulful vibe intact.
