bruno pronsato’s debut album as archangel, the bedroom slant, released in 2014, saw the producer update the style he has developed over the last decade on labels such as hello?repeat, perlon, dfa and thesongsays, and in the process, manifesting his love of pop, rock and post-punk in his music for the first time. on this ep, selected tracks from the debut album are reworked by dean blunt, peter gordon & oliver coates. the vinyl release includes a downloadcode.

after metropolitan jazz affair, the dynamics and mr president, master of musical ubiquity bruno ?patchworks? hovart proudly presents uptown funk empire, a burning tribute to one of his all time greatest loves: funk. bruno ?patchworks? hovart, as a self-taught musician and typical teenager, started playling guitar, bass and keyboards at age 15, covering james brown, jimi hendrix and cream in his bedroom and, later in college bands. his first releases are in the mid 90s, with deep house and disco live bands and various electronic projects. he quickly develops and shows very special skills for vintage disco/funk productions with a contemporary flavor. this gifted boy?s been working with artists such as amp fiddler, archie shepp, mr day, paul randolph... and for many recording labels such as i still music (usa), favorite recordings (france), infracom (germany), further out (uk)... uptown funk empire is an exciting and ambitious project, worthy of its name. while the first album is simply called ?the empire strikes back?, it?s no joke... forget the whole revival thing, this sounds like an actual rebirth of the real funky stuff. it?s like being back to the better days of funk without a travel machine... the vibe is vintage but the sound is fresh...that?s not funky music, that?s funky music !

jimi tenor featuring impostor orchestra lp, exocosmos, is more than a decade s worth of sessions emerging from a parallel cosmos. sometimes the meetings take place in a living room, sometimes inside an electronic sequencer. fields of rhythms have emerged through the hands of children playing sticks. the composer s pen has been a conduit of the horizon where past and present choose their sides. the lp which is immediately intimate yet metamorphose into massive, the search for a magic moment has been profound. tribulation and delight are equally true in exocosmos.

a demo tape, sent to capitol records by the trash company in the early 90s, garnered this curt response from then president of the r&b division, joy bailey: some music was never meant to be heard. thug records returns with one of the most intriguing releases to grace the catalogue so far. not restricted by any one scene, max monroe of the trash company produces a hypnotic medley of original hard edge rhythm & blues, soul dance and classic psychedelic punk wave textures. armed with a condition known as synesthesia meaning he perceives sounds, words and letters in terms of color and a 4 track cassette recorder, the trash company has spent the last 30 years as a bedroom recording genius.
