(180gr / 2lp gatefold) compiled by pete gooding and mark barrot. enchanting ibizan institution la torre continues its compilation series with volumen tres, an incredible fifteen track release that draws inspiration from the islands hedonistichistory.

the heavy pulse of sound systems synchronizes with the precision of musique concrète and the reconstructed memory of a masked folk dance of the swiss mountains. techno, drum n bass and dub are echoed within this sonic processional, where samples are pulled apart and recycled, cut at the beginning and end, then linked together.
tresque takes his name from an open-chain circle dance from medieval southern europe. under the musical moniker d�incise he has played on numerous solo and collaborative projects with cyril bondi, designing quiet, intensive listening experiences with various combinations of software, recordings from vinyl or in the field, modified objects, percussion and harmonium. as tresque the delicate minimalism he�s known for takes shape within driving grooves. airy, spacious, amplified noise from his collection of samples is sliced and tethered to weightier, physical beats. a tension forms between uplift and downfall, hypnotically oscillating between structural textures and collective dance.

terje saether and robert solheim met at a party they both played at, clicked and started playing together. this soon lead to this, their first collaboration. dinky, of norway and fredrik bekkaasen loved the project and was happy to contribute with their remixes. this is the result, the ep tres hermanas . the fourth sister, dolores, disappeared along the way, but will hopefully return for the digital release. finally the four hermanas will be reunited.

back at the counter... same faces, new stories. comberti opens up with a tale from a journey to some far away psyche truths. zk bucket butts in with a more rugged sound... tinny synths, shooting tambourines that cause you to hide under the ground. the faster b-side comes with mattlack and a closed arrangement for high fidelity freaks... layers on layers. sode closes with a track for the simple minds � like me and you... ready to spin?

a-side opens with a post-apocalyptic anthem, which makes you want to sniff glue until all worlds break down. followed by sirvan, a hypnotic, self-reflective rat catcher - vocal house is back. changing sides brings you rufex, which initially takes you back to dubby berlin times, but ends up with rumbling witches playing their boneshaking rattles. mattlack rounds it up with a messy, synth-stabbing ravelifter - for doormen only!

nice price deal !!! big with mickey moonlight, tensnake, cosmo vitelli, todd terje, joakim and the permanent vacation crew. they ve been called one of dance music s best kept secrets jackpot. in 1983 italian experimental sound artist marco donatello and swedish synth pioneer gleen asp made recordings together. their ambition was to put sound to an art-project but the result was an erotic cocktail of italo-esque melodies, ebm rhythms, and filmic arpeggios. legend has it the music was made as an excuse to press records off a narcotic solution in order to smuggle drugs, and that a mishap during the operation explains why we haven t heard these tracks before. in any case, this is an exclusive document of unknown yet truly unique swedish dance music.
