there are some records that manage to sound both of a time and utterly timeless and bon voyage organisation s jungle? quelle jungle? (a nod to supertramp s crisis? what crisis?) is one of those albums. its silken-smooth production, irresistible grooves, funk-tinged guitars, lush soundscapes and general glowing presence could easily lead one to believe that have dug up a lost disco gem from the 1970s. however, behind the disco-pop gleam lies eerie dystopian sci-fi ruminations of a futuristic bent and tones that can often feel as french as they do asian or african. this sort of cross-continental exploration is an expansion on bvo s previous two eps, the man behind the organisation, adrien durand, says. -i tried to continue the musical expedition between dystopian science-fiction haunted africa - plus haitian vaudou on -soleil dieu- - and futuristic asia. addressing, in a double entendre manner, some of the political issues that i am sensitive to.- in fact the jungle in question in the album s title is a metaphorical one and one that creates a vast series of environments for durand to explore such subjects as world trade, utopian ideals and themes of idols, as well as of time and communication. however, one will need to speak french to decipher such explorations, as well as shake off the natural impulse to move with every glorious beat on its 13 tracks, of which are moved along by maud nadal and agathe bonitzer s golden vocals.

as if formed from the vapors of sewer senders previous releases, eletun selona renders two pieces that have roots far down in the ground, while the air above is allowed to escape mysteriously unseen yet obviously present. a1 forms a body of evocative sounds using rhythm as its core, while a2 reminisces the allurement of a1 with enthralling melodies. on the flip side detroit resident segv elevates the embodiment of eletun selona’s works. the detroit mix decodes the a-side in a sharp manner, while b2 concludes segv’s feature with a deep interpretation, wrapping up the release in a solid execution.

following the previous 1996 and 1997 beat tapes released in 2017 and 2019, dj spinna is back with another collection of all unreleased beats from 1998 created during his final days of using the sp-1200 and akai combination before moving on to the mpc 3000. still fresh after 20 years!

the new release of sies, inspired by intimate events, is suitable for small and large rooms. available in green vinyl only, limited pressing. the tracks have hard kicks and new, more underground, sounds, which make the listener travel, the power is master, the sounds are avant-garde, aggressive. the first track presents the sensations that can be experienced during a particular event such as raves, referring to both annoying and respectful people that might be met. the following piece gives the title to this project, the predominant sounds are violent, inspired by the vibrations that can be heard on the dance floor. the third song has a mystical mark, definable psychedelic, and allows who listens to go into the unknown. the last track is more experimental than the previous ones, has ghostly sounds and a powerful and a thrilling bass. suitable for both overture and outro of a party.

oud zeer contains ten piano tracks, each of which is named after epitaphs of graves. musically, oud zeer is more bare boned than his previous albums. piano, voice, some sparse guitar or strings: that’s all there is. pressed on double vinyl, housed in a gatefold sleeve.

this is a very limited run of 250 copies. mystical circles is a brand-new imprint with its eyes firmly on the dancefloor. the label s first missive comes courtesy of island times deejay, a dj/producer/re-editor previous best known for his dj mixes, which were uniformly full of obscure, hard-to-find disco gems. we have no idea what the source material is for either of the edits here, but they sound like caribbean disco records. disco smoking is unfeasibly heavy, driving and stomping, with mazy horn solos, jazzy funk guitars and hazy vocal snippets riding a booming bassline and sweaty, non-stop drums. dawson street is a more relaxed, and rubbery affair, albeit one rich in chiming melodies, spacey synth solos, winding sax lines and elastic bass guitar. as the welsh would say: tidy!

foghornia is the sequel to tapani rinne s previous album radioton, which was received well by both critics and fans last year. it will be the second album to be released on the signature dark label, first digitally and later on vinyl.
