started at the age of thirteen with a crate of his big brother s records, dj matpat was introduced to an eclectic mix of music that has influenced his take on house music. racking up releases from labels such as madhouse, exploited, plant music, w&o street tracks, as well as derrick carter s persnickety all stars label, dj matpat has now combined his passion for production and house music to form his own label entitled clubby boy. with the artistic stylings of his philly party club congress and a remix by the bunker artist justin cudmore, the first release its time! six months after their last installment, shir khan and exploited drop another hot to trot collection of disco edits. as usual, there is much to excite, beginning with the familiar guitar solos, rhodes keys and dub disco pulse of antilopes *singing ghost* rework. death on the balcony keep up the reverb and delay-laden dub disco theme on *addict for your love*, whose rubbery groove, twinkling pianos and heady vocals have been expertly rearranged to fit house dancefloors. finally, matpat go loop crazy on the thumping disco house cut *only you* which sits somewhere between rahaan and soundstream. excellent stuff all round.
