bangers and ash is back. the rough & ready series of records that spawned the wider styles upon styles imprint has always challenged artists (clay wilson, certain creatures, best available technology to name a few) to work their sonics for both the club (bangers) and the clouds (ash), now welcoming contakt to the family in 2018. a native of michigan and a long-time resident of brooklyn, contakt cofounded the boundary-pushing club night turrbotaxr with previous releases on argot, icee hot and second shift and detritus feature on the ash side with a spacious wash of atmospheric analog synth constructs, while shut off notice and ndo are bangers that divebomb deep into classic detroit techno. each record has been screen-printed, stamped and stickered by contakt and sus, with mixing by phil moffa and mastering by josh bonati.

this latest release from hizatron and bashley galvanises the usual wigflexian- gloop with a more industrial edge and a superb implementation of found sounds. a darker pallet underpins the record but this is inverted then lifted with inserts of scattered euphoria. whilst all that is synonymous with the current face of techno lurks consistently in the background throughout, in an almost redemptive fashion, we are hoisted upward from a chromatic descent and set forth onto a crisp, bouncy path peppered with light. the depth of stereo field is utilised perfectly here and the use of dimension is something of a staple for all of those who call wigflex home. hizatron is known for his seamless arrangements, catchy melodies and punchy percussion and this record has that unquestionable tron swagger but the familiar sound is accelerated by new influences from bashley who although a relatively unknown member of the family brings a fresh range of timbres that compliment hizas signature grooves.

fast cars, money, but no record label to truly call my own? this ends today ... hi, i am julio bashmore. somehow i have found time between jet-setting around the globe, becoming a voice for the people via my radio one show and generally living the high life to bring you a brand new label, broadwalk records. today heralds a new era in the julio bashmore chronicles, with a sound that shall echo through the ages ...

there is no doubt in anyones mind that 2011 has been an incredible year for mr. julio bashmore. a string of stellar eps on an array of prolific labels have led to this beautifully filmic piece of house music that closes an equally compelling year for futureboogie recordings. >riff wrath< is a perfect embodiment of bashmores fluid modern soul and understated drive with a dusty haze of of cosmic strumming.

both xtrah & basher has been causing a stir throughout 2011 with their various releases on the legendary ram records. they join forces for their debut release on subtitles. >hubble< and >reflections< have both gaining heavy dj support from the likes of andy c, friction, hype, goldie, calyx & teebee to name a few.

the proposition is a simple one. it was a 2009 when julio bashmore first remixed >heartbreaker< from deadboys classic first release - the >u cheated< ep on well rounded.
he remoulded the garage template of the original into something more immediate, replacing the swung off-beats of the original with driving forward-rhythms and a clarity of purpose that takes absolutely nothing away from the musical impact of the original. this circulated on mp3 and we smiled and danced.
unexpectedly, in 2010 jb returned to >heartbreaker< for a different interpretation. this time around a more haunting approach was the order of the day with cross-fading strings creating a soulful, otherworldly atmosphere. the drop this time also swapped sub bass for punchy 808s. a tantalising further alternative that pointed the way to this vinyl release.

the final chapter of vonstrokes limited vinyl album remixes features some seriously low end.
remix #1 is one the favorites of the entire project. claude met brazils dj marky on an artist bus at a uk festival last summer and gave him the track >aundy<. he asked him to do a mix and marky and his friend s.p.y. turned in this amazing drum n bass version. numerous artists have been dropping it even in the middle of house sets! it really captures the drum n bass feeling of the original track taking it back to the genre which inspired it.
remix #2 is from our up and coming bristol based bass prodigy, julio bashmore. he takes on >california< the co-production by cvs and j phlip to another level, adding smooth low end bukem style bass drops and shimmery vox/pad programming to the already insane track. bashmore is one of the few new breed of uk producers who cross over all the way from house to dubstep.

international amateur rifle shooting champion, julio bashmore, has just returned victorious from the world championships in helsinki, finland. whilst there he was inspired by the local landscape and has delivered these two beautifully scandinavian ice cold classics.

marc feind was born in scotland and raised in germany. he was influenced by punk, kraftwerk and funk. as a dj he played chicago house and played siegessäule at love parade. his cover version of the german punk band extrabreit is a mixture of electro/punk, house and break beat. the ep comes with two mixes and traxx by stereo jack and two anonymous techno big name djs/producers.
