for release no.4 sudden drop enlisted the talents of russian based recording artist & dj tripmastaz, who has been producing for the likes of morris audio and most noticeably dj sneaks magnetic recordings imprint since 2004. with each release his sound seems to get more defined and mature and our attention which seriously pricked when we first heard his tracks being played on jus-eds radio show. we quickly got in touch and asked for some tracks. first up is >utilized stock sounds<, originally produced in 2003 this melancholic slab of deep techno deservedly finally sees the light of day with a grimy lo-fi feel and enough dance floor nous to work the floor admirably. flip side track >botinko dub< injects a big, cavernous bass line and razor sharp hats n snares.

in its original incarnation, shit robots -losing my patience- – a choice cut from 2010s from the cradle to the rave — strikes a balance between iciness and warmth, with hot chip frontman alexis taylors soulful vocals melting the tracks frosty synthlines. now, hot chip and unabombers remix the track and redefine its feel. hot chips new take on the single mystifies the original with deeply cut grooves, squelching bass and taylors heartbreaking, trilling vocals, pushed to lonesome front and center. the whole procession builds to a climax of chiming keys, striking percussion and synth melodies that corkscrew firmly into your head. the uks unabombers – the dj duo of luke cowdrey and justin crawford – take a cosmic approach, laying down synths that stretch toward infinity and holding off on vocals till near the songs midpoint. the dub remix gains traction and energy in its latter stages, with a heady mix of piercing synth squeals and taylors vocalizations set on repeat, like a mantra urging party goers to the dancefloor

after last years highly sought after collaboration between coyote and nesreen shah that resulted in the dreamy >moving< on international feel, coyote are back for another summer record for 2011 with their equally beautiful >always< on needwant. teaming up again with songstress nesreen shah on >always<, coyote have created a hypnotic groove from the outset, a ghostly vocal over a driving slow tempo bassline that keeps you hooked throughout.

tony ollivierra begins 2011 by getting down with the machine sound. bordering on acid-funk, this ep really gets it shakin. the title track jericho, reeks of the latter days of disco with a deep bass line that fades in and takes control of the party. a warm synth chord then kicks in along with some strings which build up to a peak time climax. nag champa captures a deep and surreal groove with a sweet aromatic feel that definitely is burning. the dark bass line entangles the listener in a sensual moment while a resonant synth riff tops it off. on the flip, midi aura begins with an uncompromising synth bass line that does not quit. the sequence bubbles onward and a thick chord sweeps through the arrangement opening up into a placid apex of harmony. the aura of this midi is feel good all the way. lastly jack box, another acid track that works the cutoff and resonance into a climax of delightful poly rhythm and melody. jericho will be a very limited vinyl press and will be the final project on the ibex music label. keep your ears open for his next label venture which will be introduced this summer.

poker flat welcomes new artist show-b to the ranks! mathias schober is the talent behind this new and exciting production project - having already released on the respected compost black label - and now announces a whole new batch of funk laden, truly deep electronic jams. >far down< is a swirling and all-encompassing tech-house journey. characterized by pitching synths and focused percussion, the building track really ignites as its slow burning themes come to the fore and a remarkable moment is created. the technical and dubbed-out >time comes< is a superb example of a modern electronic hybrid. crossing heavy dub stabs and delay-washed fx with thick, room filling synths and exceptional detailing, this inventive and textural track is pure home-grown and highly recommended! a dub version is also included which focuses on show-bs stylish drum fills and great feel for tension in the arrangement

taragana pyjarama is 21 year old nick eriksen from denmark, >taragana pyjarama< is his debut release on french house label fool house, following the self imposed death of previous project elm ick, which went onto release on john talabots hivern label (barcelona). the release features three original tracks, ‘,sundanese blonde’,, ‘,ocean’, and ‘,girls’, the breakout track that had the mp3 blog dance community in raptures at the tail of of summer ‘,10. eriksen may feel at home creating deep new house productions but it’,s natural attraction towards the journey in his productions that resonate most, no less so in ‘,sundanese blonde’, perhaps the stand out track on the ep and the sole track to feature a vocal. ricardo tobar provides a pulsating take on ‘,girls’,. as for the definition of taragana pyjarama? we’,re still not sure.

a1: buch - trippy house track. one for the club, heavy drums and evolving synths. main synth line is hypnotic but driving. killer track!
b1: hit me slowly - hit me slowly takes the tempo down from the a side, keeping the hypnotic house vibes going. a slow groover with an awesome bass line. got that outer space feel!
b2: argo - more of a traditional house tempo on this one. focused on the deep popping bass line. lots going on around but the bass is what makes this stand out. cool little samples echo all over. the synth hook adds the hypnotic element to tie it in with the other tracks on the ep. big, big track!

barn 003 is a split single featuring two tracks ? one a cut-up disco monster by our good friend from gothenburg, andreas jonsson (or acid andy as his mother calls him) ? the other a psycho killa trancehall jam from sweet old boman himself. both tracks have been tried, tested, rinsed out and wheeled up by us barnhus boys for a few good months now ? feel free to give them a chance at your own local discothèque this weekend!

nice price deal !!! rippertons wonderful perspectiv imprint look to kick off their 2011 vinyl releases with the bribe em with candy ep. a debut on the label for german duo motec and daniel gelbe under their production pseudonym, eve white. some exquisite house tracks on this ep. lead track sugarbabe with its velvety tones and chocolate coated piano chords is the most delicious of starters. backed brilliantly by its timeless dub. its the cymbals that initially stand out on feel better. the open hats and ride shimmer alongside the twinkling keys. its unique vocal is underlain by an acid line thats contrast to the other elements, is the real key its success. rounding out the ep is anything goes. with pianos being the instrument of choice for eve white, its no surprise to find that the ivory rain-drops and warm throb of the rhodes are key here. this really is the finest of sunset and sunrise territory. bring on the summer!

off spin 007 includes a track by timo garcia, wellknown from legendary labels nervous and yoshitoshi. >inches< starts with a techy rhythm strengthened by an euphoric pad and a sleaaaazy vocal. nils weimann & clay porter let the summer start a bit earlier. >la guitarra< has a summery vibe but is driven by a techy-percussion-ish beat. this track will definitely make hips swing on the dancefloor. >this is my home< gives you a warm deephouse-feeling with an organic groove. a lovely track which brings a smile on your face and makes you feel home immediately. mario aureo & daniel solar know what they are doing. >what you do< has a lingering deephouse vocal with a steady groove. a perfect record to mix.

thirtyonetwenty is back in full force, for the fifteenth release we welcome the hermannstadt collective, aka mihai popoviciu and jay bliss, and this time markus homm joins them to do so serious damage.
midnight fun is a homage to classic detroit dance tracks with an up-to-date feel. two superb versions and on top of that - olderic & alex piccini known for their release on bitten - deliver an excellent tech-house remix, enjoy!

a1: get cha - beat down funk feel with ltj written all over it! super vocal and a killer bass line as ever. coming at cha! a2: funky luv - again on the slower beat, properly done. the groove is awesome. a gentle track with lots of percussion, keys and a cool little vocal. typical ltj at his best! b1: the party - a more upbeat, housier number for the b. this track has real nice groove to it, again heavy use of the percussion elements. a long, evolving synth and super low end.

6th borough project make a welcome return to delusions of grandeur to deliver their debut lp entitled one night in the borough. as well as a cd the album is being released as 3 individual singles plus a limited edition triple coloured vinyl pack. here we have the first single in the series of 3 including four brand new full-length cuts from the album. find a way kicks things off and sees the guys deliver what we know as classic 6th borough material ie. precision cut, edity disco and soul but heavied up with a fat kick and an arrangement which screams out for peaktime plays. iznae hits next with a brilliant wobbling bassline that brings a warehouse feel to proceedings before the groove drops into an unexpected breakbeat section that harvey mason himself would be proud of. if its loopy downtempo house you re into then look no further than if the feelings right. layers of loops build and drop, filtering in and out whilst grooving steadily along at a sublime 88bpm. finally, changin goes on a classic deep house mission with soft stabs and synth riffs supplying the interest while a rolling beat propels things along in an understated yet powerful way.

chilean born dinky is a long standing resident at panorama bar. her warm, technical house sound, underpinned by intricate rhythmic and harmonic elements is a much loved staple of the scene. >take me< is a wonderful meeting of thuggish house and soul-infused, feel-good energy. a surprise break leads to unexpected vibes and a brief encounter with some rhodes keys action. >polvo< is a psychedelic ride through more cerebral moments, possessing the power to truly lock you in. the extended passages of this breezy, garage-house hybrid just highlight dinkys instincts for dramatic timing.

>daemon< is the third ep from kenton slash demons >the schwarzschild solution< trilogy and features remixes from axel boman<. tartelet records are proud to present this last ep from the momentous trilogy and feel confident that it will bum rush discerning dance floors with its unrelenting, seductive beats and yearning, melancholic bent. as you may already know, the name >the schwarzschild solution< is taken from karl schwarzschilds complex theory about gravitational pull and celestial bodies. this is heavy, elevated subject matter, which goes extremely well with the lofty artistic ambition and nuanced emotional disposition of the trilogy. and as you would expect it from the boys, >daemon< is a grand journey of larger-than-life proportions.

third release for the neurhythmics label. once again, juergen provides 4 tracks for this ep, all of which are on the deeper side of detroit-inspired house music. be it the shimmering chords of >last day< or the loose and skipping organs of >headache<, each track shows a different side of juergens productions. noticeably heavier than the other tracks is >post reunion< where the floodgates open, and a haunting stab rides over the crescendo of cowbell driven disco-beats, with a bassline that is difficult not to be commanded by, and an overall journey feel that just doesnt want to stop

the labels hiatus is over. a few years have passed and neurhythmics resurfaces after like-minded souls decided to bring it back. juergen junker returns with a 3 track 12inch that stems from a live-set concept he created over the last few months. raw as you like, it takes a distinct bow towards the earlier days of the windy city. dirty, knackered sounding drums, and cut-up vocal bits fused together to a driving force that is hard to resist. the a-side , >unclean mutha< is a definitely x-rated affair that has the jacking feel built right into arrangement. on the b-side, this is suitably followed up by >working her for real<, which is what we want to happen when this is being played in the club. work it, baby..! the second track, >honey< with its camp statement vocals and similar vibe rounds things up for the first part.

heavy duty remix ep (accompanying the first sic! release on meakusma) features reworks by errorsmith, lowlow and quarion. errorsmith remodels orange sky, in his inimitable style, into a bouncing bomb, solely focused on making the dancefloor explode in delirious delight. lowlows version explores the darker side of the track, conjuring up a syncopated nu disco rhythm that sounds claustrophobic and ecstatic at the same time. quarion takes orange sky to the beach and gives it a balearic house feel.

studio one dub 2 is a second collection bringing together some of the finest dubs from the legendary studio one records, kingston, jamaica. dub music was the creation of a generation of brilliant recording studio engineers in jamaica. but although clement coxsone dodds studio one is hailed as the greatest of the jamaican recording labels, and although many talented engineers worked the board at dodds brentford road studio over the years (including sylvan morris, syd bucknor, overton scientist brown and dodd himself), studio one was never typically known as a centre for dub.
