fifth release on the acclaimed imprint from those lovely people over at the acclaimed sleazybeats blog. the dust just doesnt seem to settle at team sleazy who are set to unleash their fifth dish of mid-tempo filth. sbr005 should likely round out what has undoubtedly been more than a successful year for the sleazy beats crew. as hard as it might seem to upstage their recent sampler, this release by berliner daniel solar (of no more hits and dikso fame) is another trio of totally on point sleazy business which showcases daniels stellar skills. things start off with midfidelity funk, a snappy romp through steady synth and disco string territory. this little number delivers a perfectly spell-binding groove with nicely placed rhodes stabs, crisp tambourines and haunting vocal at the breaks. on the flip, twinkle love snaps out a sweet melange of piano, guitar/bass riff and morphing vocals that combine to give a lively mood and open atmospherics. finally, rounding up the ep is la fleur, a wonky yet punchy cut thats ripe with staunch drum sounds and strings amidst loopy vocal snippets for good measure. all three tracks ride a 110ish bpm groove that is likely to ring bells for those who have been following and digging the sleazy sound so far. the last few releases all sold out in a matter of weeks, so dont sleep on this. you know the drill by now: limited release, no repress.

please welcome one of the most promising dutch artists on souvenir027, onno. a one-way ticket to india awaits you with the a-side, >bombay palace<. onno is storming the dance-floors with mystic vocals layered with club friendly drums and beats. a must have crowd pleaser for the early sunshine of the day! daniel sanchez (remote area, 100% pure) flies the original direct to chicago - encompassing spacey and vocoded vocal sounds. he genially injects soulful elements into >bombay palace< and turns it into a stellar skyscraper rooftop for >8 minutes of love…< - deep deep deep! on the flipside, onno delivers with >chants< - dizzying on the forefront, all driven by cosmic waves and stomping drums - a singular piece of electronically modified funk. sante happened to be onnos first remixer of choice for the track - a great choice, as he infuriates the original with what the tech-house genre offers best, turning it into a devastating peak-time take. well done!

worship recordings with another solid ep release, this time featuring cuts from chris udoh and gary beck. udoh is up first with >hear da muzik<, a driving house gem with a definite dubby flavor, as delays are left to run over solid drum patterns, strong chords, and a rumbling bassline. on the reverse, gary beck keeps the dubby house theme rolling with >stick to the reggae<, which has more of a skank to its rhythm, as dubby delays are again left to exploit stellar percussion, stabbing horns, and a wandering bassline.

second release on the new ibadan offshoot, public service recordings. >life story< gets the ball rolling with some bumping disco-fueled peaktime house, with a strong female vocal dominating atop a bed of funky bass, stellar synth lines, and solid house beats. yohan squares >love of life< takes the mood a little deeper with some lush late night house, blending sweeping textured synth lines behind a deep bassline groove and shuffling late night house beats. on the reverse, julian jonahs >jealousy of lies< is a detroit-flavored late night houser, with textured synth lines, a stellar spoken male vocal, and laidback beats and bassline all combining perfectly. last up is >rey-d<, a deep late night track that utilizes some fairly bumping beats behind a minimal bassline and rich chords for some minimal floor grooves.

andromeda – just like the galaxy with the same name - is brilliant! expansive and excursive, the suspenseful groove on its own is >big room< worthy, but its the sci-fi tune that haunts across the synths that takes this tune from x files to x factor. while on the flip you will discover the #1 remix duo - 2000 and one and dj madskillz - with a punchy, in-your-face stellar remix.

galens original mix is a stellar funky techie house thumper with some nice james bond influenced horn stabs and bouncy melodies that inter-play skillfully with the subbie bass line. of the two remixes on the b-side claude vonstroke steps up first with his cant miss minimal funky dirtybird style. rob mello closes out with a sultry, techie acid house flavored journey featuring long modulationsweeps perched on a chunky bass line.
