for his new release on nona records brooklyner max ravitz changes the formula again and delivers five spirited acid electro tracks. the ep will be out at the end of august supporting his european summer dates. for the past several years ravitz has been keeping up his production of house and techno music via different outfits like inhalants, masks, or pulpo and most notably patricia with his last year’s release – an epic 3lp record – ‘several shades of the same color’. his recent effort called ‘free lunch’ explores one of the directions presented on the album, however this time adding more color in the palette.

yogg is part of the parallax label crew and hails from tel-aviv. his techno turns your mind inside out with its long and hypotonic grooves. then comes distant echoes, another techno innovator who has landed on rodhads dystopian and the out-er label with this dark, bleak sounds.

as non state’s inaugural release, the lake ep by jarvus is a textural exploration into unknown realms, with each passing movement painting imagery of coarse landscapes, from the rolling, insomniac daze of “rock pools”, filled with warm, bouncing bass sequences and synth-pad whirlwinds, to the submersible resonance of “lake mist”, projecting feelings of fragility and under-water claustrophobia as tribal-esque rhythms act as a calming mantra.

soul clap definitely knew what they were doing when they snapped up certifiable diva legend nona hendryx to sing on one of the cuts from their self-titled 2016 album. now ray mang has got his mitts on the parts to -shine (this is it)- and turned out three versions for his own mangled label - the classic combination of extended vocal, instrumental and radio edit versions. whichever cut suits you best, the vibe is the same, a bold and bright summer party track splashed with horns, keys and plenty more besides, although the smart money is on hendryx s legendary vocal, which soars as though no time has passed since her days working with material in 80s nyc.

needs is a not-for-profit record label & collective lovingly curated by bobby pleasure. we believe in people. the concept of the label is to use music as a medium to spread love, unity and the idea of giving back. promoting harmony and togetherness rather than isolation and estrangement, each release and accompanying event will act as a support stream to various issues within society such as mental health, homelessness and equality. for the second release we have tracks from tilman, jonny rock, lucky charmz & pletnev. four artists from different countries of the world who all have the needs factor, and have very kindly donated their music to the dancefloor. all profits from this release will be donated to the homelessness charity crisis. everybody has needs.
