killekill002 comes from alex cortex solo. the a side track >tackle” is an old school minimalistic loop techno track with a weird bleepy melody inside. made for the late hours on big pas. b1 track >beach bass< is the hit of this record: a deep house number with a bassline that hits your heart immediately and makes you smile and want to dance. a house hit as it should be! b2 >boing boing< is an uncommon, strange electro track that rounds up this ep and shows the wide range of styles that can be expected from this label. alex cortex has been releasing electronic music of all kinds since 1996 on labels like source records, kanzleramt, klang elektronik, pomelo, platzhirsch and many more.

future disco releases the fourth edition of the sort after series and to coincide with the full album release is this limited four track vinyl sampler featuring some of the highlights from the collection >neon nights<. first up is an exclusive track from the revenge. originally created a dj tool for graeme clark aka the revenges dj sets >just be good to mario< is a cleverly produced mash up of the revenges own >just be good to me< featuring the vocals of crazy ps danielle moore, and mario basanovs track >do you remember<. the result is a slow grooving dance floor jam that takes the best bits from two producers at the top of their game. also on the a side, the c90s –shine a light is given the remix treatment by australia outfit flight facilities. the result is a slow tempo song, perfect to start or end the night. on the b side, hannulerauris instrumental >zombie tropicana< gives a firm nod to the 80s with a slow stomping electronic disco work out. finally london duo, tape to tapes >pure & easy< completes the pack. a hand raising house track with soaring breakdown, which demonstrate the breath of the sounds on a future disco collection. all tracks have never appeared on vinyl before and are exclusive to this sampler
australian newcomer delivers a bumper ep for londons 3rd strike. the lead track is a driving deep looped disco house in the vein of soundstream or the mole. gaining support from mark e and the revenge to name a few. lovin you keeps the pace high, again utilizing subtle disco samples with a rigid house backbone and hand in the air keys. hunee is on remix duties and keeps the quality as high as his acclaimed releases. merging a moody bass synth with jittering drums and stuttering keys.
a1: your last chance - very housey vibe on this one, with a heavy kick drum/snare combo. expanding synth line and very subtle percussive elements help the track build. it really kicks in when the vocals hit along with a funky ass bass groove. beautiful! a2: sailin 79 - slow paced track, centred on the vocal. great backing with bass, rising & shooting synth sounds. not so much for the dance floor, a great track for bar surroundings or a low key dj set! b1: youre welcome - smooth groove on this one, vocals are really well executed and give the track a great edge. killer track! b2: love is gone - super chilled track with a cosmic disco feel. waving synths, and echoed vocals create a very big sound. this track is encapsulating, pulling you into the groove for the entirety and sticking in your mind once its ended! brilliant stuff!
SAYING GOODBYE / ONLY HOPE - DAIRMOUNT & BERARDI, CARLO RMX
12 Inch 02.02.11
composite family welcomes feygin, a guy influenced by prince, the beatles. louie vega, jimpster, herbie hancock, jazztronik, dop, will smith, billy joel and woddy allen. he loves anything that flows smoothly, whether its into his ear or into his belly. feygin comes from a family where everyone played some sort of instruments. yet, he never learned to play anything himself. about 2 years ago he decided he will make dance music, or his own interpretation of it. so far he is doing well. you can call his style an eclectic mix of dance music and its various sub genres. as long as it grooves, feygin is on it. at some point in his life, he d like to be able to collaborate with real live musicians, and really push dance music to its boundaries
to kick-start the fina campaign we literally hunted high and low to find an artist and sound that we felt would represent us and give a statement of intent. what we didnt expect was for this search to take us south of the equator and into to the deep southern hemisphere. this is not the first place that you would expect to hear warm, deep underground house but this is exactly what you get with the melbourne based mic newman. and thinking about it, it doesnt get warmer or deeper than melbourne does it? mic is a young producer who we believe is destined for greatness. at the age of 29, hes already had a string of underground smashes on labels such as murmur, tsuba, dirt crew, freerange, and now for fina records. the intriguingly named live east, die young ep (mic riffing on his time spent living in london) sees what mic doing what he does best and demonstrates why his future is so bright. on die young, the tougher a-side, mic keeps the beats solid, and the groove tight and hypnotic, while the smooth chord stabs get right under your skin. prolonged foot tapping ensues. on the flip side, live east, mic takes it a little deeper with ever so subtle disco touches. the vocal sample asks what your name is and to take off your jacket as if to welcome you to a very messy after hours on this mcde-esque low-slung house groove. on remix duty, the on-form jacques renault and marcos cabral aka runaway, lift the track out of the south hemisphere and take it in a north easterly direction all the way to the caribbean – adding plenty of steel drums and pads on their interpretation of live east
after an incredible whirlwind of a year lee foss returns to the culprit fore with >your turn girl<. foss is the labels most consistent and prolific artist with this ep being his fourth release, solo or as part of hot natured. it is safe to say, lee has become one of the pillars around which culprit is being built. the >your turn girl ep< carries foss signature hallmarks: melodic funk-infused basslines, vocal hooks that grab you from the off and a smooth electronic edge. lees incredibly emotive sound makes him stand out even in the current glut of soulful dance music washing over the global scene. your turn girl – the title track is an epitome of foss >ominous funk< style, playful yet with a distinctly sultry edge. yet another memorable r n b female vocal bit sits on top of some of lees own best synth work. and driven by a killer analogue bassline. >pyramid scheme< –bristles with the disco-inspired propulsive energy. an acid-flecked low end, that comes to the fore mid-way through, a swirling guitar sample, the crisply sharp drums add up to the releases, perhaps, most hands-in-the air moment. >cabin party< continues the themes lee explored with his mega successful hot creations ep. foss eschews the standard house beat yet again, opting for his most organic drums yet, stunningly conceived textures and melodies, with another pair of vocal hooks to die for. finally >warriors< has been a staple of many a culprit dj set for the best part of 2010. lees trademark combination of a terrific electronic bassline, and an unabashedly emotional sample work make for a deep house stand-out tinged with a sense of nostalgia.

pop ambient returns. kompakts beloved series. this is our other arena of bliss, always curated and carefully compiled by label co-owner wolfgang voigt (aka gas). somber times call for more introspective sound scapes - >pop ambient 2011< continues its mission to slowly persuade its signature sound introduced over a decade ago. this year we see the series leaning towards a slightly darker complexion than its predecessors.
need to warm up? want to dance and you love house music? then your gonna to love this track. david guettas ability to supply a proper dance-pop stonker again evident with whos that chick. feel the adrenaline / moving under my skin / its an addiction, the barbadian songbird rihanna hollers over bolshy beats and swaggering synths, the studio trickery on her nonchalant vocals feeling colder than an ice pop on a snowy day. its a good job, then, that bopping along to this - and warming yourself up in the process - is pretty much impossible to resist.
southern florida, 1984. the sonarphonic sound was pioneered by james mccauley aka maggotron / dxj / basstech. originally produced for bound sound records in 1984, this is one of the earliest and rarest recordings from mccauley and marks the beginning of the underground miami bass electro movement. in the following years he recorded hundreds of tracks including >the bass that ate miami<, >temple of boom<, and >attack on the planet of bass<. maggotron is still active in the genre and is currently working on a new album. if you are unfamiliar with mccauleys musical adventure, let the sonarphonic be your guide. tip!!
one would be curious as to what a track such as this one would sound like. images and visuals floating through your head as you press play, the airy, angelic pad intro induces you into a trance-like state before soothing piano lines and a pitched-up vocal reminiscent of the early hardcore era takes you away. as the drums come in with a half-time feel, it is easy to imagine japanese taiko drummers playing their part. once the break takes hold, a short span of melodic heaven uplifts before the drums take control again.
with davidchristoph we have a fresh, fulminant dj battle, which stands for extravagant work behind the decks! feasting up to the point of ecstasy, dancing in great profusion and music that forces you to move your body, are just 3 maxims they act on.
fof kick off 2011 with a nod to the past in the form of justin drake (peace division) and kevin griffiths- (tsuba) -the devil-s eyes-, a deliciously grimy jackin- groove, coming on like a low slung mid 90s house production a la schatrax. we enlisted the talents of christopher rau for the first remix. as many of you know christopher has had an impressive 2010 culminating in his critically acclaimed lp -asper clouds- for the always excellent smallville label. chris cleverly uses elements of the original, intertwined them into an altogether quirkier, more optimistic deep house groove with a definite injection of -fun-: to round off the package, new talent bleak takes the reigns, providing a peak time techno stomper. bleak-s debut single will be released on hamburg imprint -sudden drop- sometime in early 2011 and promises to mark bleak out as a name to look out for.

we present superb deep house treat from alex danilov - framing the ear worming lead refrain around a robust ny house bass line and crisp, punchy percussion with his seal of vintage touches. it kicks off with the track >pool< in which alex builds a chunky chicago/ny styled house cut with silky smooth synth pad and hypnotic vocal loops that carry on to theme of the b side chicago tribute >get old house<. this ep rounds up with the deep and playful >sequence smoke< poem track that will keep you going through the late night. we bring the funk !
the second release on claap appeals to those who enjoy mixing long transitions and like to create moments during their dj set. sounds from the continents features two wonderfull musical collages, inspired from the favourite findings of label head gummihz in world music. loose percussion, hypnotising xylophones, guitars and singing voices take you on an introductory trip to the beautiful soundscapes of the african continent. high priest and toba lee theme also feature elements of field recordings which alex has collected throughout the years. sharpened with an extra edge for those who seek!
dubstep don vent brings the pain with this release on hardcore beats. >shogun of the dark< will slice you up like a samurai with is stupidly big bass that switches as the vocal samples interrupt the rolling beats. on the flip sees vent team up with critically acclaimed rap, grime and dubstep group foreign beggars. so need we say more?
cue is definitely one to watch for 2011, he has been tipped as one of the best breakthrough jump up artists out there right now and this release shows you why. >lose control< will tear your speakers apart with the distorted bass. on the flip cue creates a beast of a tune with another aggressive track. keep your eye on this fella!

>contemporary soul< is the term which best describethis release. karat has always felt that records speak for themselves, but if description is necessary, well, there you are. mzkbx (pronounced >music box<) has a soft spot for the classic sound of old school house productions, as well as a healthy fetisch for 80s funk & disco. his productions successfully bring those influences up to date and onwards to the future... veteran record collector and dj (macadam macambo), mzkbx handles the transition to studio with ease, delivering a solid release for karat, in grand style. elegant, classy and sincere, it grooves the dancefloor without reverting to the typical dance music cliches.
2013 repress! sudden drop step it up a gear for their 1st release of 2011 with newcomer bleak providing a double header of beats. >isolated< kicks things off in fine style with sleek, super phatt beats and a serious amount of pace. throw in some tight production technique, a serious attention to groove and a fine palette of sounds and you have an impressive addition to any techno minded djs record box. flip for the moodier stylings of >bold<. although more introspective in its approach, bold is no less powerful on the dance floor. once again bleaks impressive production technique rises to the fore with big booming kicks and melancholic pads
what do you get when one of the worlds most in-demand producers and one of the worlds most in-demand vocalists combine their talents?

following an astounding live premiere at this years winter music conference, david guetta presents >when love takes over< feat. kelly rowland, a song that will cross pop culture barriers from all over the world. backed up with dnb-remix by blame.
following on from his last release on guinea pig, sfr steps up and delivers a game of two halves on his latest release. >dreaming in computers< is a progressive, techno influenced slice of real dubstep - definitely one for the head nodders, this one sucks you and doesnt let go. in contrast >alien idiot< is a dancefloor friendly bassline steppa, which twists and turns at every corner, keeping listeners on their toes!
>star of love< is the much anticipated debut album from the purveyors of boundary shattering electro crystal fighters, whose music melds animal collective toned delicacy with soulwax inspired rave.

mule musiq proudly introduce the new artist&music in south africa. there are huge deep house scene in south africa.you already know the one of the star in outh africa “culoe de song” who release on innervisions and mule musiq. on a side, the music remind joe claussell or that kind of music but moodswings put more unique touch. on b side, the music is bit closer with chilian stuff than afro house. so their unique music is like a fusion of joe claussell and henrik schwarz and luciano
short about the label: a joint effort between prins thomas and word and sound- the idea behind the label is to put out good music and not limiting ourselves to stick with a specific genre, instead opting to stay fresh and individual with each release going in every direction we feel. we are gonna be highlighting new talent, re-releasing some lesser known nuggets and certainly give you some dancefloor killers along the way to. from japanese techno to california kraut : ) just the way we like it… im very glad to introduce yet another member to out internasjonal >family<. mathew senick aka mathew leutwyler. mathew got in touch through the web from mexico and it took us only a brief listen to this troika of wonderful sounds to convince us. now decide for yourself if theres something wrong with my ears….. ps: my computer tells me hes had releases out on perspectiv and traum, ill definitely investigate further, so should you
the power of lauer is indisputable. blessed with the uncanny ability to make hooks that would make bone thugs-n-harmony jealous in their heyday, phillip lauer is – pardon us – the melody man. his newest tour de force comes in two parts for our beloved live at robert johnson label. similar sounding to the legendary harmonizer (as if you would care), h.r. boss is new- romantic -italo -not -italowave that puts love on top of love (i.e. the aforementioned melodies). wouldnt sound out of place in sophie marceaus notorious la boum walkman. forbidden fruit is the sweetest. a little less full-bodied, yet as disarming, banned goes straight ahead with its ripply bass line, wheezing strings, a killer arrangement that completely deserves the tracks name plus a groove that wont stop. feels like delta nrgs filthy little brother. delectable! put on your red shoes

the 27th release on rotary cocktail rec. sees contributions from leipzig and dresden. the original >somebody to love< from mod.civil kicks things off, proper rough and intense jacking house that is completed by the heavy heavy analogue bassdrum and his crazy voice. on side b you will find an excellent raw retro chicago house remix by jacob korn
we dont need to tell you that rolando is a figure synonymous with the roots of techno. regularly djing in berghain, his unique brand of techno and heavy electronic funk has continued to evolve naturally into the sound youll here today. on rolandos first 12inch for ostgut, we find two diverse tracks each shedding light on the different poles of his current sonic focus. ben klock featured both >de cago< and >junie< on his >berghain 04< mix, and now we can enjoy the full tracks in their own right. the proud heritage of >de cago< is clear from the outset, yet rolando works crisp modern drums and edgy acidic synths into the mix, resulting in a potent concoction of jacking, edgy technofunk. unapologetically raw and gritty - and all the better for it - is >junie<. introducing a different production methodology, this multi-layered half-tempo exploration into eerie harmonics and slow building passages is the latest incarnation of rolandos emotional and instinctive melody writing
vinyl only! after releases on vivid or ackerdub, carsten rausch strikes back with two groovin techhouse tracks on subotnik. incl remixes by ataneus from bulgaria and modul from moscow
