mike storm comes from the underground scene of the 072 area in the netherlands. in the late 90s he started as a dj, soon he moved from turntables to his first equipment and started performing live-sets on various local partys. while the underground scene was highly involved electro and techno music, mike learned from it’s established djs & producers and how to work with analog equipment. as of this day, he still produces his tracks still without any computer sequencer. mike storm is most of all inspired by the sound from detroit and minimal dark techno and his biggest passion is performing live on stage. in 2012 mikes coming out of the underground scene and sees his music is being appreciated by the likes of jeff mills and dimi angelis. both djs frequently use his tracks in their sets.

few people stand for a real underground approach to techno like adam x does. for over 20 years he has been right in the center of the scene. before moving to berlin he ran the sonic groove record shop in nyc for 15 years. the sonic groove label also owned by adam is still a dominating force in the scene and has released music of legends like abe duque, blake baxter, frankie bones, kevin saunderson and many more. with djing, producing music adam in recent years has received a lot of support from people like chris liebing and many others for his productions as adam x as well as for his aliases traversable wormhole, admx-71.adam’s sound is dark and heavily influenced by his passion for industrial and old school ebm music. with coercive persuasion on the a-side he combines these influences with a functionality that can only derive from his extensive touring as a dj and live act. it is a dark anthem that will destroy all real techno floors. no doubt. the b-side deprogramming sequence comes along with driving bells that give the stomping beat of the track a little uplift and therewith balances out the heavy dark side of the ep.

scenery records present their second release this week, and it doesnt disappoint. it is a four tracker, with the a side being held down by deep space orchestra and b side duties being taken care of by bantam lions who featured on scn001 with a remix by the ever popular cottam. pressed on 180 gram heavyweight vinyl.

300 x limited vinyl only release, hand stamped and numbered “it’s quite overpowering… no point in standing round” the first release from a new producer rarely sounds like this. swaggering through your speakers with a distinct lack of concern for weak hearts or brittle bones, the first record from blured is a focused combination of dirty funk and malignant, pig-iron bass.

broken bones wurde 1983 von mitgliedern der einflussrichen hardcore/punk-band discharge gegründet und fügte dem sound eine metal-komponente hinzu. die dem bones lp erschien ursprünglich 1984 bei fall out records und wurde von clay records- und discharge-produzent mike stone produziert. das album erscheint nun im originaldesign als klappcover und als neugemasterter direct-metal-mastering-vinylschnitt.

2009 gründeten john pelant, micky alfano und mark ritsema night moves eine band, die nicht nur auf pressefotos beeindruckt. nach dem einstieg von drummer jared isabella anfang letzten jahres war die band vollständig und wurde schnell von domino records entdeckt. im märz erscheint nun auch in europa das debütalbum colored emotions mit seiner knieerschütternden mischung aus folk, dream-pop, psychedelic und natürlich der wahnsinnsstimme von sänger john und einer bandoptik, die trotz all der nebensächlichkeit einfach nicht unerwähnt bleiben darf. als produzent fungiert thom monahan der bereits für devendra banhart oder den beachwood sparks an den reglern saß!
