although jaxson and keno both have successful solo projects and have previously worked together before, this collaboration is bound to be their most notable release yet. a fusion of house, funk, latin and techno, all meet at the crossroads of their studios for a 4 track ep of sundry beats and fresh flavors. clearly the a-side, >tout le temps< is comprised of a clever hook and a hazy latino vocal sample, which carries the initial groove right into an originally played synth section. a good example of a refreshing approach to adding effects and using sounds. >tarantella< as the title might suggest, one might expect a track that would scare the living day lights out of you, but it has more of a >creeping up from behind you< sort of vibe. a subtlety creeping groove subliminally enters your unconscious mind carrying a secret message. what is that message you ask? dance! the congas on, >red baron< sound so live you can almost here the players licking their fingers. congas might be the groove in the heart of this tune, but the melody of the slick synth stabs and rising strings are what ultimately breath energy and spunk into this roller. >karate kid< initially has a minimal feel, but once the hacked up guitar and vocals come in, you can put those dirty thoughts to rest. abundant with an overwhelming amount of unique and interesting sounds, secure this tunes ability to prick up the ears of finicky djs and clubbers alike. it is rare to find such a wide variation of sound design on your run of the mill ep, but kindisch has proved they are not an ordinary label. they are consistently releasing quality tunes and always providing pleasant surprises. some might say it is a clichÚ, but this ep really does have a bit of something that will drive one club or another nuts

persistencebit returns with the follow up ep of wang incs meditations for a better world series, which first part on persistencebit has been highly acclaimed and has been given incredible reviews, such as in de.bug magazine among many others. previously on sonig, bip-hop, and context, he now reappears with number two of the series and once you start listening you will know it all makes sense, given how close in spirit wang inc. s fresh fusion of experimental treatments and funk-house grooves is laid down. throughout the ep, wang speckles his fabulous metal machine music with rolling bass lines, high-stepping beats, and brilliant splashes of synthetic colour, whether it s the pounding stepper mind the gap or the pulsating future-funk of you are late a near-perfect fusion of experimental and dance musics, hyperactive dog splatters its house-inflected steam-roller with showers of whirr and click, and animates it with snares that hit so hard they could chop your head off. in the closer track this is the song to say goodbye he brings us electronic noise and beat madness to round things up and create a diverse sounding listening experience

baum005 are no other than marko fürstenberg of a.r.t.less/rotary- cocktail/ornaments and thinner fame. on the b side the artist sgi_s joins with a remix. what can you say, but espenhain on the a side is a dancefloor filler. a tight compressed, kick and marko s atmospheric touch of dubby techno. the espenhain remix on the b side, is shaped by swiss artist sgi_s. this track is more of a pure techno track with a old school feeling to it. appegiator groove with a break that builds up to a peak point, but still manages to be deep. ratsholz is the last track on the ep, a soundscape of hiss and noises that forms the hypnotic groove of the track. it starts slowly but it evolves into a sure late night track with a nice melody!

mutant clan is the name of the new project from timo maas and santos. these boys have really come back with a bang, havent they? having been a fan of santos productions and sound, timo arranged for some studio time together, and the rest as they say.... >inside< is a real moody bitch. with its phat planetesq bassline (not a bad thing, im sure youll agree!), rolling drums and deep ass d base, its one hell of a groove. >outside < is definitely the older, more rebellious, troublesome brother: a darker affair that growls at you from its opening bars, sounds and efx thrown at you from out of darkness. it really is a wonderfully constructed track. once again, maas and santos (aka mutant clan) deliver the goods in the finest way possible and once again, dubfire and sci+tec bring you some of the finest techno around today. a true match made in heaven

another serious result from our warehouse rummaging! si begg is a man of many musical personalities, his list of aliases is impressive to say the least (bigfoot, buckfunk3000, lenny logan, s.i. futures, zygmunt janowski...). but one of his oldest, and certainly one of his strangest, is cabbage boy. in fact i confess i am old enough to remember his releases in the early 90s on cassette tape under the umbrella of the >cabbage head collective< (which also included such techno notables as cristian vogel & tim wright) - and pretty mental they were too. the lost tapes vol. 1 doesnt disappoint on that front, containing such gems as a remix of 80s pop mysteries frank chickens>we are ninja<, and an electronic cover version of >king kong< by frank zappa (ask your parents...). totally out there, but totally cool at the same time...highly recommended to anyone looking for something with some real personality amidst the hard-drives full of faceless (and usually nameless) digital fluff
