following up from last years ep on pleasure unit the folks from miskotom deliver a lovely 5 tracker for our other imprint pleasure wave following on from g marie and jonny .,the guys(guy and girl) carry on in much the same vein but drop gears ever so slightly for some more sun drenched tropical sounds. the opener hyena s laugh could be wally and larry jamming with the locals on kong island. senoi takes you on the back of a pick up truck and transports you from the coastal town and out onto the dusty tracks and into the night for a ride through the jungle and onto the other side. 10th day is all about cocktails by the infinity pool in the secret resort and soaking up that late afternoon sun. kuai can che is all twilight era maze tougher drums and chimes with those floaty synths. seeing us out is final cut kopiek lying back on the boat as you leave the island and it all becomes a tiny dot on the horizon...float on.. file under tropical, balearic, beach sounds.

following a succesfull 2016 with his well received eps golden tides,sunlit forest and one of our fave releases bahia, joe offers up four cuts for pleasure unit. continuing the producers passion for new age , paradasical ambience and dreamy deep house,lead title -jacaranda skies- might be what telephones and met mr heard would of sounded like had they met in rimini circa 91. a dusky atmosphere provides the backdrop to ecstacy inducing chords,an elevated brass sequence and afro percussion driving a tight groove. mangrove dawn is an aural quaalude hit, gentle synth washes fold over each other,while nature sounds buzz through a distant 303. the lost garden opens to a reverb soaked slide guitar and soaring pad section before a jaguar snarl gives way to subtle kick pattern atop m1 chimes and bali bells. skies reprise closes off the ep with a beatless take on the original, the melodies given more space the sonic equivalent of open air swaying under hazy pink skies.

pain & pleasure ep is the 8th release on roberts own brooklyn based label night moves records. presenting her most recent collaboration with the first lady of beatdown, lady blacktronika. already played by lady blacktronika, james duncan releases on sound kemystry, a friend in need, boutade music.

needs is a new label that bills itself as a not-for profit concern, which may apply to many record labels, but this one in particular calls upon a strong cast of deep house producers to impart the kind of smallville-friendly sounds that discerning heads should snap up in a heartbeat. hubie davisons i know is a melancholic affair with heart nagging strings, while johannes albert injects a little spice into proceedings with a choice breakbeat and some excellent bird song on vigilia. dj swaggers 21st century slow jam is a peppy little shuffler with warm acidic bass and a kick ass swing in the beat, and then bobby pleasure finishes the record off with the wistful but tech-edged cloudspotting.

following excellent releases from skatebard, les crocodiles and lunar concept amongst many others, pleasure unit turn to cut the rug crew member mike misiu for their latest instalment of cool-headed modern disco. do what you need sports a metro area demeanour, with a classic vocal hook sprinkled in at opportune moments for maximum impact. the dub mix is no less satisfying, even with the famous sample rubbed out, but in fact the real pleasant surprise of this release is b2 jam love talk. with its funky midtempo 90s breakbeat and heavy-hitting piano, it s an addictive party starter that harks back to the acid jazz days while still fitting right into the here and now.

dalmata daniel s next up is a collaboration with the bristol-born „weirdo disco guy- antoni maiovvi and also a contribution of heinrich dressel who is an unavoidable column of rome s electronic music scene. maiovvi s pleasure model project is all about youth – replaced by blade runner-esque replicas. his first release under this moniker was „kendo dynamics- on 100% silk in 2016. it aimed for presenting a persuasive world of fiber optic paranoia and technoid effacement. dd006 is the next level of the concept and the first time on vinyl. the tracks are driven by the characteristic haggard drum machine s sound on side a with a melancholic or dark synth themes what becomes a dreamy melody in the „prism riot- on side b. the remix by heinrich dressel is a turn back directly into the darkness, but it is faster and more like a film soundtrack with his own characteristics, of course. the whole ep has a strong vintage mood and sound. it can be said that update 1.1 is definitely dystopian, coming from the future of our past.

blackcash & theo get back at it with the latest in this series of funk soul party edits. pleasure bouncy lady is an amazing funk break track, produced by jazz legend wayne henderson of the crusaders. the intro break has been extended, and is one of the all time classic hip hop funk breaks. elements of this track were sampled on brand new funk by dj jazzy jeff & the fresh prince, word to the mother (land) by big daddy kane, and church by de la soul. whatnauts why cant people be colors too is a soul / r&b jam with another heavy break, as sampled by q-tip, pete rock, diamond d, dilla, and oh my god by a tribe called quest featuring busta rhymes.

medical records presents the third release in our transfusions 12- singles series. certain creatures (born oliver chapoy) currently resides in brooklyn, ny but has a career dating back to the early 90 s. he has roots in the miami hardcore scene that evolved into post-rock and even electronic pop (warm ghost). he began exploring electronics as certain creatures in 2013 with a 12- on styles upon styles with guest vocals from stuart argabright which led to oliver producing the 2014 black rain comeback record on blackest ever black. in 2015, oliver created a lush and enthralling lp vipassana, also released on styles upon styles. for this particular release for transfusions, oliver sought to step out of his production bias comfort zone by recording live takes with minimal editing and production in order to maintain a dirty, raw, haze-filled warehouse aesthetic. mission accomplished! the 12- contains 5 tracks total of uncompromising techno which we are ecstatic to unleash on the world. presented on classic 160gram black vinyl in our transfusions 12- sleeve. mastered by martin bowes at the cage studios, uk. crucial material for fans of surgeon, regis, as well as labels such as downwards, mote-evolver, and the like.

june records presents guilty pleasure by dimdj. dimdj is a recording artist from thessaloniki, greece and a veteran dj in the greek underground scene. he is also a member of the groups anopolis and audio atlas. this record consists of live acid house recordings on the a side while on the b side the atmosphere is more cosmic.
