kicking off with the 12 minute epic when the going is smooth & good, which was recently used in keiran hebdens essential mix, this is a truly pioneering piece of disco/funk with a clear message in the music. dipping in and out of intricate percussion workouts and driven by bleepy synth grooves, it has an iressistable lo fi charm. followed by the uptempo this kind of world , another percussive electronic workout that begs the question have you ever seen this kind of world? . the b side sees the lp s tempo drop down a notch with the lp title track anything you sow . the lp finishes with a beautiful electronic ballad every day . this album is an exceptional piece of music, that s all killer, and you ll have never heard anything like it... it will appeal to fans of nigerian afro funk & electronic disco... don t let this fantastic album pass you by!

sources is a brand new series which will examine the output of a number of extremely influential independent u.s. labels throughout the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. in an age where corporate anonymity reigns supreme and music is being treated like aural wallpaper, the sources series will go back to a time when record labels really meant something via their a&r policies, their ground-breaking releases, their everyday modus-operandi and their general philosophies
danny moore aka pvre matrix is from a generation of young techno producers out of brooklyn who come at the music without preconcieved notions or boundaries in their approach to production and playing live. he is the epitomy of the slash and burn blitzkrieg attitude of new producers popping up under the jmz everyday. while very interesting to see the scene develop this way, few have executed in such a fashion as pvre matrix has. impeccabily produced without losing its sense of urgency or brutality and clocking in at breakneck speed, pvre matrix is out for blood, and his three track debuts prove as such. while you might not catch danny moore in your local big room anytime soon, he is undeniably a force that is present and will crush you regardless.
the head of grounded theory berlin returns to sonic groove with his strongest outing on the label to date. henning baer brings forth a rough and tough diverse four cut ep of chunky rhythmatic techno. recording the songs during live jams and using a previously decided pool of hardware this ep has a nice old school vibe. the sound production however is very much in the modern day with its well crafted mix downs. this release has strong mass appeal for the purist techno connoisseur.
*the shakes* is matthew herberts first album under the name herbert since 2006s dark orchestral disco fantasy *scale* (k7!). the album deals with intensely personal issues such as raising young children against a backdrop of an increasingly unstable world and, amongst other things, utilizes the sound of used bullets and shells from ebay as part of its soundscape. herbert himself suggests that the record can be seen as a treatise on how *music helps to motivate, provide respite and divert us from the challenges of the everyday* and that it is *electronic music for the soul*.
the double vinyl lp comes in gatefold sleeve and includes a download code for the full album plus 4 bonus mixes.
2014 was a definitely a huge year for dance music, with many up and coming artists being thrown into the lifestyle of hectic partying and relentless touring schedules. this also means that those who exploded onto the scene prior are no longer the new kids on the block. a few years is a long time in the life of a dj, and the first few years are often the maddest. the adana twins are a perfect example of one of these artists, having emerged onto the scene in 2012 with releases such as everyday and strange , from the off it was clear that they had everybody s undivided attention. (pulse radio) with dj names like take it easy and friso, it s probably to be presumed that german duo adana twins don t take themselves too seriously. that tongue in cheek attitude could be heard on their first productions and remixes. it s now almost almost three years later and the twins music vision is constantly developing
sweet valley is nathan williams (wavves) and his brother kynan, two bongwater-soaked beat geniuses making rap instrumentals that feel like melted playstation games. mndr is a one-of-a-kind artist and songwriter versed in britney and breakcore in equal measure. put them all together with producer peter wade and dance 4 a dollar is the result, a darkly catchy cali masterpiece. sv chop up strip club 808s and woozy synths like they are reclaiming trip hop for the dj mustard era, while mndr explores the underbelly of radio songcraft, finding the creepiness inside champagne anthems and coating tales of teenage nihilists with rihanna-worthy ear candy. decay never sounded so sweet.
new years deal - at times pacing, yet soothing and even a little narcotized, this is music for cruising, home listening and dancing, for making out and romancing.
introducing 3b records the label… an outlet for tufty club, jemmy & skyland mountain to release music of their own alongside amazing local talent and internationally established artists that they admire. be it techno, house, cosmic disco or something a little different their ethos remains simple … release quality music that they all feel connected to. kicking off the first release is liverpool based company is family. mark as he is known in everyday life is a lover of dub techno, and reductionist house.
the structure and the essence of this release, focuses on a current argument in which more and more people in this society are found to be the early protagonists, often without even realizing it. the artist wants to tell and convey through his work, a point of view towards this theme. as can be deduced from the title of the ep, the project is to express and represent a war of colors, which fight the monotony of everyday, always flat and dark.
i feel this is antons deepest production since uq-018. each track provides the right elements for different times on the dance floor!! dj jus ed!! repress 2014
the 6-track *swim mountain ep* was self-recorded and produced by multi-instrumentalist tom skyrme half in los angeles, half in london and features the widely-blogged *dream it real*. the ep is a psych-pop collage of sounds fusing 60s studio ethics and modern production techniques. drawing influences from the harmony-heavy songwriters of the 60s and 70s (argent & blunsonte, rundgren, nillson and the wilson brothers) and the bossa nova chord progressions of brazilians tom jobim and joao gilberto. having been composed and recorded between the juxtaposing environments of rainy london streets and the sunny beaches of la, this accomplished debut has a a genuinely unique sound that is truly striking for a debut record.
harbour city 2014. sometimes people from different environmental backgrounds cross paths with one another through similar interests, and they notice that they have more in common then a certain taste in music alone. boris bunnik (aka conforce) is hailing from the small scenic dutch island terschelling, that can be seen as the complete opposite environmental background as the dirty streets of rotterdams south side that drew the first guidelines for frustrated funks watchword: mad drama from everyday life.
warmer than warm club/techno groovers by the man brooks mosher, delivering his third release on dolly. 4 very strong cuts with exactly that dreamy & sensual feeling which might be the main reason why we like to dance & sweat in the dark so much... body to body with the eyes closed, far away from everyday trouble... dance, make love and heal yourself. powerful dj-tool on several levels!
for the second release on cb sessions christian teamed up with his old friend tomio tremmel, who is better known as -the sushi club- the guys spent some all night long sessions to tweak the gear. influenced by modular systems, the virus ti, tanzbär and the jomox 888 this ep offers a widespread variety of club sounds and results in three different electronic tunes, which are hard to describe … so you have to listen to it! also represented on this ep is italians best markus fix. since he has first heard christians -doubledub- he secretly trained everyday to sing the -supi dubi- hook. finally, after six years, he had the chance to present his skills in christians studio. don t miss the final tune - just supi dupi!

scaled to fit is the debut ep from london s shift work. four tracks plus four interludes. machine music for hypno dance floors and home listening tranceouts. live shows forthcoming. in their own words: shift work wring everyday sounds into something you can dance to. snippets of woven speech, audio fragments stitched with waves of pulsing mid-priced synths - the noise of syncopation, cheap art, ringing ears, cracked snares, accidents and oscillations. and some very tidy wiring.
9 years on from their inaugural release from back in december 2004, saved records have now reached their landmark 100th release. ever since saved001, skylark presents buick project - chancer / drop the beat saved have stood as a benchmark for quality whilst nurturing new talent and pushing the envelope for electronic music as a whole. celebrating the achievement in style, the maidstone based imprint will be bringing together a mind-blowing collection of the labels favourite producers and djs, covering all aspects of the musical spectrum from deep house to peak-time techno and will be available on limited vinyl samplers.
deadbeat. tikiman. infinity. dub. a quadrangle of such obvious statement and perfect musical inference may very well never have been uttered for those of the wholly weeded out persuasion. indeed, when the great book of dub music is written the names scott monteith and paul st hilaire will undoubtedly figure highly in its chapters devoted to recent years. monteith, the last great prodigal son of the doctrine handed down from the blue mount of lord scratch and king tubby, st hilaire the undisputed voice of a generation, those fanatical warrior monks, followers of the most holy house of ernestus and von oswald incarnate.
first appearance of this small-scale vinyl imprint from the east of holland with a split-release by the well-respected aroy dee (m>o>s, delsin, rush hour, dolly) and perseus traxx (bunker, m>o>s). both of them are known for their deep analogue house music productions with raw and sharp edges, but most recognizable in their work is the presence of true emotions. this will also be the distinctive element for the labels future output: emotive electronic music with the soul deep within. honest and unpolished music that is inspired by everyday life, whether it comes from pain or joy. perseus traxx kicks off with an immersive, slow building and uplifting track, followed by a moody but hypnotic and slightly acid inspired piece. aroy dee takes care of the flip-side, with a dreamy and atmospheric track, and one raw, surprising and energetic cut. a versatile selection of tracks
its not everyday that an ep comes your way after extensive roadtesting by none other than a love from outerspace aka andrew weatherall and sean johnston). but an intro email and a gentle nudge from johnston is indeed how milan-based brioskis new ep wound up on throne of blood.

after four impressive releases from the likes of ossie and behling & simpson, 2020 midnight visions kicks of its attack on 2013 with a new ep from the uks doc daneeka. last year saw doc team up with benjamin damage for a well received full length on 50 weapons, they live!, which stood apart for its pioneering hybridisation of house, bass and techno. here, on his own terms, doc explores a more extroverted, melodically rich variant of bass heavy house across all four tracks.
the first installment of alex agores mizz honey ep ensured the prolific german producer debuted fully on the say ahh! label. this second edition of the mizz honey series maintains those high standards and hopefully ensures the door remains open for subsequent agore output on the label run by the brotherly duo of mk and scottie deep. *x* sets the tone, looking to a salsoul gem for vocal inspiration and swamping the sample in a thick, bumping house groove spread across the a side that must have instantly grabbed the brothers kinchen. the flip pairs the finger snapping, soulful slam of *ice crystals* with the immediately infectious piano house business of *everyday (u lift me up)*.
jeudi records is welcoming the new year with a strong single track ep by our label co-founders adana twins featuring the brazilian duo digitaria. the past year was an exciting one for our twins. filled with extensive touring after the huge success of their everyday ep.
uk don james johnston and german champ alex agore once again come together on their hot-to-trot no matter what imprint to lay down the law on their righteous tributes to vintage house music. johnston delivers some dreamy garage swing on >think about u everyday<, and takes things deeper on >do u understand?< by drawing you in with an alluring chord line that purrs at the heart of the track. agore is in equally feisty mood with some textbook vocal turns over his >in my soul< workout, and then switches up for a breezy, carefree wriggler in the form of >in your arms<
acid isnt trying to tell stories with his work. his aim is more holistic than that. mst extends the atmospherics past the dance floor, refracting the idiosyncrasies of our existence back into our everyday lives.
thats what the world needs ...... love
the title pretty much sums the vibe up on this one, we all need to give a lil more love in our lives everyday to make it a better world. we are super excited about this new project as we welcome back yotam avni after his debut release earlier this year on seasons limited titled >time 2 go< featuring guy baron which took the world by storm with remixes from charles webster & piahnahead.
yotam has brought us another massive vocal project featuring the powerful vocals from chris dockins that has timeless stamped all over them ... we have called on terrence parker and matthew bandy for the remix duties for this one, both mixes have a place to make this world a better place.
enjoy the music and remember to play this record loud!
