ahead of him releasing a full length album on mos in 2016, key label artist marcoantonio spaventi is teasing us with a three track prelude ep. spaventi hails from italy, but is based in amsterdam, and is someone who deals in misty, chicago referencing house sounds that are loaded up with a real sense of analogue jack. as well as on mos he releases on slow motion, most excellent ny and pizzico records, and in summer 2015 he put out a leftfield electro, italo, soundtrack and disco full length, viaggi, that showed he has great range in the studio.

coup d etatais a collaborative project from kane ikin and harvey sutherland. working from their respective fringes of electronic music and produced in moments of respite between extensive touring and recording commitments, the project offers a glimpse into the pair s mutual influences and inspirations part maurizio, part moroder. kane ikin, a meticulous producer of abstract forms and polyrhythms, weaves percussive static and drone amongst sutherlands considered syntheziser work, a leftfield turn from harvey s brighter moments. ikin also traverses new rhythmic territory and signals a departure from earlier ambient works. the inaugural release for new imprint cdt, the 12inch was mastered by matt colton at alchemy and features full sleeve artwork from traianos pakioufakis.

shortly after the dust under bridges ep was released, henri sent us nine tracks which he had previously recorded to tape, not thinking that they were worthy of release. on the contrary, these are nine tracks of beautiful, brooding, leftfield house and techno, and we decided immediately that they ought to be available to the public, and that they formed a perfect appendage to halvtraks debut 12 inch release, dust under bridges, written, as they were, during the same period.

hommage this is already the third release for our little baby s p i e l and as we are on a constant search for the more leftfield and not so deep house esque dance music it was a very happy surprise to find an amazing demo in our mail box by the swiss indie dance/ electronic duo mercury. the bern based act already made a name for themselves by releasing on the great gomma label and by doing remix work and collaborations with people like robert owens, byron stingily, tom trago,munk and two door cinema club. these three new tracks are a well crafted mix of electro, disco, house and deep techno.
