with over 25 years in the game, andré galluzzi can respectfully be awarded the veteran badge of honour. a mark of experience and longevity for an artist who has, as they say, been there and done it all. today howeversees the german take on a new adventure, with his debut release for josh winks ovum recordings. as a dj, andré has held residencies at three of germany and the worlds most influential clubs - tresor, ostgutand berghain. been the driving force behind his own we play vinyl party. managed his own taksi (along side paul brtschitsch) and aras record labels and featured his own music on such highly acclaimed imprints as cocoon, cadenza, ostgut ton and highgrade. back in 2001, having released his seminal mix compilation, �im garten�, andré embarked on a new series of events that regularly saw him play intoxicating sets of up to 10-hours. the parties went by the name of submerge and those infamous dj sets have inspired his beautiful brace for ovum today. the metronomic kick drum of the title track introduces us to its immersive groove, whilst bubbling and elasticated fx vie for our attention, adding a sublime swing to submerge. on the flip, bold, by name and nature, ups the swing ante with its fierce acidic melody, shimmering hats and rasping snare. support from: josh wink, pan pot, joris voorn, dj hell, huxley, doc martin, till von sein, anja schneider, &me, catz n dogz and more!

2016 has been a very fruitful year for krill music. the habitat series places focus on shedding light on budding new talents and seasoned veterans alike through solitary tracks. the year kicked off with an ep from those that fall into the latter category - those of whom need little introduction, in stanislav tolkachev, i/y, +platfform and stefan vincent. throughout the course of the year, we then saw the likes of matrixxman, ilario alicante and mental resonance contribute to the now infamous concatenation.

this monster 1976 lp from nassau s munnings brothers aka beginning of the end is a stone cold classic. fact. well deserving of a place in any record collection! this, their second lp (with 1971s infamous funky nassau preceding it) features the brothers original, fresh sound a mixture of tough funk rhythms, bahamian soul and flourishes of jazz and rock is an extremely well executed and produced body of work. not surprising considering the band were one of the bahamas foremost musical outfits. the brothers musical backgrounds could not have been any more fitting, they cut their teeth playing regularly alongside the likes of nat king cole and count basie at their fathers well known nightclub the cat and the fiddle, what we get on this lp however is not jazz, but lean, melodic soul music! original copies of this seminal lp can change hands for 100 s on the used/second hand market and is a solid constant at the tops of the wants lists of record aficionados. the lp has been illegally reissued numerous times without any care or attention being taken to retain or respect the quality of the amazing music contained within. not so on this occasion, this is a fully legit, sanctioned reissue done in conjunction and with the assistance of miami s tk disco empire. now is the perfect time to revisit the deep, soulful sounds of the munnings brothers endeavours, a truly sublime collection of songs, drenched in sunshine, masterfully produced and performed with pure vitality. a truly classic album. sounding as fresh as it did almost 40 years ago. jump in the water!

hard previously unreleased dubplate cuts on side a, i roy vocal & dub on the same rhythm on the b-side! legendary channel 1 dubplate music. this version of -free black man- by earth & stone was scrapped for release in favor of the softer version that eventually appeared on their -kool roots- album, but this heavy cut achieved infamous dubplate status thru play on uk sound systems. in the case of this tune, it seems only dubwise cuts made the rounds, as we ve not heard (or heard of) a full vocal. and like many tunes not pegged for release from back in the day, mixdown masters were never kept, so only dubplates remain to haunt us. here you get two hard dubwise cuts, remastered from dubplate (punters beware!), raw as ever. on the flip side, i roy s vocal, the only released cut on this rhythm, as well as the only released dub, as appeared on the -musical dub attack.-

after the mindblowing release of andy kolwes, its time for matei tulbure to step up and do his thing. first making waves as part of the infamous groove duo tc studio, matei is here exploring sonic science on his own. for ptx007 * gateway ep*, he crafted three superb and diverse cuts for any occasion. we are really looking forward to this one!

the 1978 record, which goes for up to $800 on the collectors market, comes with a lore all its own. the liner notes explain that at the time of its recording, davis was suffering from personal turmoil and a head full of memories from the vietnam war. the infamous jonestown, guyana mass murder occurred two days before the recording session and weighed heavily on his consciousness. the resulting electronic score would garner attention from legendary motor city dj electrifying mojo. in the early 80s, davis performed as 3070 in cybotron alongside juan atkins, laying the groundwork for detroit techno and electro with cuts like alleys of your mind. despite successful cybotron albums released on fantasy records, davis spent time penniless and abandoned in a v.a. hospital. the new 12inch version of methane sea was cut to lacquer straight from the original master tapes. davis currently lives in ypsilanti, michigan and works with music videos, fractal designs and cgi.

on the newest star time release, kon reworks �the bottle�. most should be familiar with this song but this gets the standard kon treatment, an intro that builds dropping into the bottle�s infamous chords bass line breakdowns and more. for the flipside kon remixes the rework for more of a housier vibe, chopping some vocal sections and some guitar ala george benson style.
