following on from last years exceptional ‘obsession ep’ from art crime is a budding young talent by the name of will lister. originally from lyme regis, will moved up to london to attend goldsmiths university and in his spare time he helps us out behind the counter here at the shop. when he’s not here at the shop you can also hear him playing records on his balamii radio show or his monthly club night, ‘the aten’. ‘the phantom ep’ is his production debut and we’re extremely happy to be putting it out on our main imprint. the title track opens up the ep with heavily reverbed pads, echoed claps, crunchy percussion and repetitive synth stabs that all work together to create spaced-out atmosphere that’s full of twist and turns. flipping over to the b-side, ‘after the light’ picks up the pace with a driving high-hat rhythm and full-bodied kicks that underpin warm piano keys and smooth synth lines. ‘agency’ closes proceedings by turning up the intensity to full with a masterclass in building tension.

toms due is talented duo from etruria beat crew, they re now back once again on their home label with two bangers urania and caliope and two remixes. one from nina kravizs trip label young protégé nikita zabelin, the second from micol danieli, italian newcomer artist and owner of 030s vinyl record label. on the a side sit the two original tracks. urania is composed of a powerful techno groove on a simple but strong chord fitting perfectly on the climax of the middle of the track. second comes calliope, a toms due signature heavy rhythm with a happy techno synth melody, a must try for all dancefloors. on b side, nikita zabellin shows once again his minimal approach, pure analogue sounds with a bit of darkness. mico danielis chose to use a never ending rhythm that wont ever leave you alone, a very elaborate arrangement. keep an eye on this italian lady producer!

deep love is the first vinyl release by stefano pozzi, dj producer and musician. it’s very difficult to define his sound: his creative process led him to merge several genres in a very original way. the artist shows us a great talent combining different electronic styles from deep house to soulful house, new jazz and chill out music. stefano is also a guitar player. with his releases, he shows us how to bring guitar sounds together with electronic music in a brilliant way. in this 12 inch ep, that could be defined as deep house, the artist has worked to merge various elements of house music: the warm sound of a moog organ with a deep drum kick, the use of hypnotic and rhythmic vocal samples, the presence of many jazz and soul contaminations due to the acoustic guitar.

the new bomb on echocord colour comes from mike dehnert. mike already released several eps on echocord colour, and we are happy and proud to have him back. this ep contains 3 powerfull techno-tracks with dubby elements, typical stripped down mike dehnert sound, perfect for the peak time dancefloor. mike dehnert is mostly known from his own imprint, the raw techno label fachwerk which he has been running since 2007. he is also releasing on other respected labels like delsin, clone basement series and deeply rooted house.

a-z is a new label started by al zanders ! this stand-out new production talent has already, across only a handful of releases (as lodger on the stamp label & under his own name on karakul & blind jacks journey) made quite a name for himself ! a-z is a new platform for his distinctive and eclectic output after sharing a stage at shambala festival, al was impressed by the 7 piece sheffield group hot diamond aces, who sent the crowd into a dancing frenzy with their bombastic brass licks and afro-beat inspired rhythms. so impressed in fact, that he approached them afterwards with the idea of doing a remix and starting a label. the reworked version of dsomc is a certified corker that has already been tearing up dancefloors. for the flip, things get deeper with an unashamedly happy house jam raiz , which features some twinkling keys from sleepsang. perfect for the summer!

as the climate cools down in australia, temperatures are rising in europe and one of italys finest selectors has taken charge of people must jams eighth record. deja vu is a ep that has been a long time in the making. the result, we hope you will agree has been worth the wait. the title track kicks the ep off with a killer funk groove that riccio works into something we think mark e would be happy with. dyson jam is an original cut that channels some of his inner moodymann vibes - heads down, lights down, fader up... for the b side we asked the incredible payfone (who has been racking up a solid string of releases on golf channel) to remix dyson jam and he has created a perfect contrasting remix to the rest of the tracks of the ep. a deep journey that takes the original into sub-dawn territory. 4am vibes! the final cut of the ep mystical stretcher, is a late night jazzy funk number. again a little mahogani inspired...

shaw cuts is happy to present its third release, which includes 4 tracks produced by farron under the title ‘death duel’. the story of this chapter is simple: the third master is respected as the unrivalled and undefeated swordmaster of the day. his strength and skill saw many opponents who sought to slay him and win his title. all failed. there was only one rival who might sever his crown. it is only a matter of time until the ultimate duel… ‘we don’t make no sense’ rings in combat with a dirty break-beat drum pattern combined with deep, melancholic pads, circling the scene before one of the masters makes the first attack. warmer in tone, ‘tangency’ is the first intermission, a lull in bloodshed and impending annihilation. short-lived… the b-side brings back battle mode with ‘centro’, a rough and rolling thunder with churning synth action and distorted drums. the duel ends with ’par 2’, its sharp percussions, goliath bass drum and spheric pads reverberate victory. an open breast and sword glazed red. fatal hemorrhage…

the last of public releases single-digit records is the first from the british west midlands most famous dj and producer, mark e. this shouldnt come as a surprise. if anything, the fact it didnt happen earlier should, mark appeared as a remixer on jeffrey brodskys 2014 public release ep, which has earned him the status of esteemed member of the outfits inner circle and prime candidate for an extended play of his own.

it all began with a demo from siberia in 2011...the rest is history.. with his fulminant debut ep -untitled dubs-, rawax became over night an incredible focus in the techno scene worldwide. unbroken dub aka denis safiullin was let s say the co-founder of it and still a very close friend of the label. no wonder that we re happy to present you denis 7th release and follow up to the first one called -untitled dubs 2-!

francesco tristano really needs no introduction lately, his music speaks volumes and his reputation precedes him with that said we are happy to share place on lafayette with you once again, this time including some stunning remixes. the first one is a collaboration between two highly respected artists: thomas gandey and radio slave. the two take the track further into tech-house territory with the percussion driving while multiple layers begin the fall into one another, achieving a beautifully elegant and jazzy end result. gutis vision is much deeper, with hints of dub here and there as the artists drives the tension up and creates a stunning groove. the final remix come from tuff city kids, who are known for their sometimes unconventional approach to making music, and in this case, it works. they channel a raw vibe and create something that is quite possibly the furthest thing from the original in terms of percussion. the pianos keep the thread strong, and the rhythm takes care of the rest.

in our brand new 12” vinyl release axel karakasis has produced the mouth-watering hashtag ep, for all those vinyl and techno lovers out there to enjoy a wild time on the dancefloor.
on the main side, the title track opens up in a bass-heavy, thumping tempo mode that evolves into a magnificent mixture of insane synth samples. the result is so refreshing and upbeat that you cannot get enough of it! happy monday completes the sequence on the side: the track provides an ultra-rhythmic counterpart with layers of textured presets and a voice sample that strikes out!
on the remain side, spillover is a rolling monster, with a highly contagious, utter rhythmic grooviness that is simply irresistible. ample percussion and hats accommodate retro synths and reverberating keys that cut through the track to give way to a solid techno workout that is exquisite.

when we started heist a few years back, our idea was to give a stage to talent in a same way as we have had a helping hand by the labels that have supported us from the beginning. therefore, i’s our pleasure to share this release with you by newcomers ouer, a berlin based duo with only a handful of tracks out so far on their self released debut last year. their approach to producing is very much jam based, and with a compact collection of synths, drum machines and a fair level of distortion, they succeed in creating their own sound with hints of classic electronic music from chicago and detroit. theres a nice mix of energy on the whole ep, the ascent being the most driving track of the package. fans of classics mcde tracks will love show off with its dreamy dx7 style chords and cracking acid lines. move over feels like a jam session that was way too much fun with some lovely solo work on the synths, whereas mess around goes down in similar free-ride style on the synths and again, has some lovely sampling going on. an impressive ep were just all too happy to have on our label. sincerely yours, lars & maarten

the first spinning plates ep back in february was picked up by print media and radio tastemakers from ra and dj mag to b.traits and moxie, whilst djs as diverse as ivan smagghe and francois k slotted it into their dj bags. as such there has been much demand for a second release, and now it arrives in the form of a fascinating split ep from scene veteran andy rantzen and relative newcomer bruno schmidt, who helps a&r for the label. in fact it was bruno who came across andy’s tracks during a late night youtube session. andy, who remixed inxs and severed heads back in the day and is a sydney based producer who has been active for three decades, had upped a load of his old demos to youtube in the faint hope that one day someone might find them. and damn are we happy he did, because they are brilliant affairs that sound like little else. for his part, bruno has been a louche resident and hifi creator alongside andrew james gustav and gwenan and delivers an exceptional stripped down late night trip/early morning trip.
