born in the same star sign as joey negros sunshine band project, the super phonics are all about invoking that classic soulful 70s disco sound, but to an updated house blueprint, with a little bit of soul and funkn thrown in for good measure. performed by a stirling group of live musicians, including session players for groove armada, incognito, us3, the james taylor quartet, the brand new heavies and the herbaliser, you know the tunes are gonna be good to go! first up is their cover of the linda williams classic elevate our minds - a timeless soul number that has graced the decks of many a southport weekender as well as being recently sampled on ben westbeechs drum and bass smoocher get closer. the super phonics take it back to the raw, with this soul drenched cover. over on the flip, is the bands own composition have a good time, a jumping and pumping disco groover that should find favour on most open minded dancefloors.

new bomb from west london don phil asher..... phash continues his raw fusion escapades with this recycled and well improved reggae groove made in a true restless soul spirit. together with uk singer shea soul and mc motet of the bugz crew, phil rocks the joints on this original brentford all stars sample and reboots it into the future of cyberspace. with nice punch bits like baby girl, im looking at the front door, motet slices it up and gives room for shea soul as she melts our hearts with her smooth vocal chords. and dubbed out of his mind, phil keeps going for an instrumental dub version where it (by way of the tape delay inferno) gets the true king tubby treatment.

as we found this fabolous track from bruce lenkei, we couldnt believe that this was not an original from the cosmic era, instead it is a new production. this track immediately came on to us very strong with its magic sounds and the great atmosphere, which describes the title best. after we included the moonlightzombiedance into our mix for the d.i.r.t.y soundsystem from paris, we got crazy feedback from around the globe and so we decided to put it on wax. on the remix duties we have the hot talented michoacan, who earned himself a very good reputation with 12inches on labels like bear enterainment, grayhound recordings, tiny sticks and lektroluv under his belt. most recently he also got remixed by the almighty dj harvey and the glimmers. he speeded the tempo of the original way up and transformes it into a crazy krautrock stepper in the vain of goblin. it makes the people dance like zombies on speed - we experienced :). if you dig the zombiezombie stuff you will love this one.

the beginning of year three in the adjunct chronicles is marked by a 12inch by our own apendics.shuffle. kenneth james gibson has been bombarding the techno scene consistently for the past few years. u_derline, orac, friends of tomorrow, mos ferry, sunset diskos among other labels have served as the carrier for kens deadly weapons. remix duties are taken on by the one and only mathias schaffhäuser , a renowned techno superstar and the founder of ware records. there couldnt have been a better title than >no reduction< to literary describe this monster of a track - ken has unleashed the entire arsenal of his studio for the creation. stern synth patterns pizzicato their way through the track, deep sea signals ring in the background, distorted vocal snippets insist on taking >all the money<. energetic and magnetic dancefloor number dedicated to the real freaks. mathias approaches the rework with smooth drumming and a velvet bassline. the cheeky cabaret vibe however never settles: the diabolical pizzicato of the original returns and the voices continue their demands for (what all adds up to in the end) >no reduction<. oblivious filth brings yet another layer to this joint. beautifully crafted sounds mingle with electro-mechanical noises, layers of melting textures lure the listener into a late night wonderland

russ gabriel is the owner of ferox and a techno legend in his own right. with releases on his own label as well some of the worlds best techno labels such as planet e, djax-up-beats and soma. we first welcomed russ to pariter with the release of ferox classics, bringing back some long forgotten ferox tracks for a reminder of just how good techno can sound.

this selection is based on over two decades of deep dj experiences. the impact of seeing jazz dancer, michael knot of idj, dancing to acid trax by phuture, in the back room of a pub in teddington, produced one of those seminal moments that, gilles maintains, radically changed his view of acid house. it is important to say that this is certainly not a club album as some of the predecessors in this series have been.

alora…from sebo k, sleeper thief, audiofly, anthony colllins, sian, marcin czubala to manuel de lorenzi. best feedback for the new 8bit record from the smart italian guy. manuel de lorenzi is definately one rising star to watch out for in 2008..carving his own fresh style and insight into his prodcutions, he delivers a fine ep for 8bit..>coconuts< is a slow burner, with punchy chord stabbs and deep haunting pads that take you nicely on a journey. on the flipside >something< is a more subtle, deep n dark groover. nick curly is brought in on remix duties keeping it close to the orginal yet delivering a more housed up percussive affair. a great ep and great start to 2008!

with blind way, franck roger is going back to the early years of house. in fact he shows a lot of himself, musically and vocally, taking us onto a fascinating night-tracky journey. some may call it old school, franck simply calls it 100% pure house music. i dream of u is a little shout out to the wonderful & inspirational detroit scene. the hypnotic chimes loop, turnin around a looped bass, whilst stabs drive this riveting track along its way. only for real house lovers! call it detroit house but why not also call it paris house music!?

>life is the only drug i wont ever give up<. this is probably the most life-affirming claim ever forwarded by ware- labelboss matthias schaffhäuser and its made to fit the party. and as hes being the guest on a very special label hes going all the way. totally in accordance with the wir-label-philosophy, the title track shows off lots of modern producing skills, never sticking to just one rigid idea but coming along with a whole bunch of attitudes. pop-induced vocals are artfully woven into minimal beats, housy strokes meet sound concrète, and the whole combines to one neverending track, leaving the elitist style ghetto behind and delivering itself to the pulsating life outside, leading to a truly beautiful work clearly thats one hell of a challenge for every remixer, but lovable atom smahing mathias kaden is the right man at the right place, as he knows how to deal with emotional content under the influence of the contemporary raw. his eleven-minute-opus tightens, focalizes, piles and moves around the original material, but without betraying its spirit. this remix seems larger than life but still maddingly gripping and you get the overwhelming impression that here every angle leads to another, every bit communicating. its a nation under the groove, all in one track, and its here to be heard

budai and vic are amongst the most successful producers and djs from hungary. they met in 2000 and decided to produce and promote their music by their own. the results are two fine respected labels, international productions and support from the likes of cox, the timewriter, terry lee brown jr. ,or valentino kanzyani. after getting signed at plastic city they are on their way to the top of the hungarian dance scene. they present techhouse at a new stage and follow their own path of pleasure!

played by move d., deetron, agnes, lerosa, quarion, … attention: limited to 350 copies! hot on the heels of his real soon limited release, berlinbased producer hauke freer offers another fab piece of deep house music! hauke has an old-school production approach, working with contemporary software but using a palette of mainly vinyl samples to give a loose, rawsounding edge. all 3 tracks maintain a deep, dark yet smooth feel, using some lo-fi percussion. hauke is keeping a >minimal< edge, fusing detroit flavoured electronics with a rough berlin feel. old-fashioned in a good way - just the way we like it! hauke freer grew up in a small town near hamburg and moved to berlin in 2000 to work for the techno label kanzleramt. after spending a year in australia djing and working for the label future classic, hauke returned to berlin to work for the resopal schallware label

french artist based in paris. this prolific musician gets noticed by the od records label that has produced his 2nd ep in 2006 mixing in all his productions influences from the 80s, 90s and 2000s through cheap but stylish synth sounds, melodies that underlie a certain sense of tragic and his own gimmicks, he builds tracks socked in old school house, minimal and electropop that immerse us in a cold, sensitive and personal ambiance.

this time again offering some delightful grooves that will be appreciated both by the dance floor crowd and home listeners. nicely starting off the ep is berlin based greek producer ekkohaus - on his second tune for the label with a very detroit-influenced track, massive elements of groove and funk, exploding half-way through and teasing the listener as the snare/clap comes in on the half beat. this tune will be largely enjoyed by both techno and house fanatics. next one on the list is italian marco shuttle, offering a slightly different approach with his deep, long & repetitive journey of soft synth chords and elegant elements that remind of cadenza releases, providing a perfect tune for the after-hours or stylish warm up. on the flip we find ourselves with a huge tune from queen atom, perfect for the peak time hours in those big packed club rooms: a combination of detroit-esque funk, with trippy back melodies and percussive 909 toms waving through the atmosphere, resulting in a dark yet groovy slow-tempo techno piece. strikingly finishing off the ep is argentinean artist rudolf, already known for his previous releases on sthlm, who delivers an enormous experimental track with intensely layered vocal melodies: eerie, ghostly and combined with many industrial aspects, the result is an immense bubbly, watery track that will indisputably drive clubbers insane throughout the globe.

map dances very own miles numan comes up with a hot summer track, which already got a lot of feedbacks by various a list djs. besides the funky original mix the groove junkies from the usa turned it into a sexy afrohouse bomb. for late hours miles numan comes up with a dub version with beats and a bassline that will drive your crowd crazy. try this!!
