from the depths of the cavernous restoration headquarters comes the debut album from the notorious analogue cops and marks their return to the infamous berlin imprint. after a busy 2012 curating the third side project together with steffi, the duo pair up for this filthy, distorted and crackling collection of hardware oddities, body stompers and circuit-bending analogue excursions built for total dance floor annihilation....

boomchik is back with a 2nd release. si murray, one half of deep space orchestra, strikes out on his own with his other worlds project. solid basses and rattling percussion fuel an e.p. that gurgles with bright detroitesque finesse and variety that shifts between large almost basic channel feelings, to glitteringly precise house music. a five track release, full of floating pads and spacious reverbs take you directly to other worlds as lush strings and tight percussion patterns do exactly what they intend and trip you back to memories of warehouse days. murrays extremely tight production and musicality give this an edge that though reminiscent of the tones and feel of days gone by, has its feet firmly planted in the here and now.

fourth album, is an album labeled, engineered, mixed and mastered by steve albini. and its pretty obvious: fourteen tight songs, full-on (faithful to the motto hammered by albini: feature it, or fuck it), carved in eight days, by five people (drums, guitars, keyboards, bass), without ever leaving the studio.

bring u up originally appeared on romans blackmale label in 1995 as a rumbling slice of new jersey garage complete with gospel samples and romanthony collaborator the trojan horse. it was a bit of a cult favourite with underground heads like dj deep. it wasnt until roman completely re-produced and re-sang the song in 2000 that it fully took on anthem status. out went the heavy kicks and hypnotic moods and in came james brown horn stabs and a live beat that sounded like bernard purdie had joined him for the session (the drums were actually provided by roman himself). the result was an instant club hit with everyone from pete tong to francois kevorkian that reached (a very respectable 74) in the uk national charts. on this 12 inch deetrons takes the funk vibe of romans 2000 version and toughens it up for todays dancefloors, lee webster adds a monster baseline and some serious beats. on the flip-side the original blackmale version is re-issued on vinyl for the first time as is an unreleased dj friendly edit of the 2000 version done by kevin mckay.
